What is a good dish to serve with chili to your guests?!

Question:

What is a good dish to serve with chili to your guests?

Answers:
You really don't need a side dish to serve with chili.
But accompaniments are good. Like tortilla chips, cornbread, pasta or a baked potato. Potato with chili and cheese on top is good.

Mexican Cornbread
Here is recipe

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups corn meal
1/3 cup melted shortening
1/2 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup buttermilk or milk
1 can cream-style corn
1 can chopped green chile peppers (4 oz)
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 450°. Mix corn meal, shortening, salt, sugar, eggs, soda and milk. Add corn and chile peppers. Pour half of mixture in large, greased 9-inch pan. Put half of grated cheese over batter. Spoon remaining batter into skillet or pan and top with remaining cheese. Bake at 450° for 25 minutes. Enjoy.

jalapeno cornbread

rice, you can make an interesting fetticuni dish as well with chilli

For tradition I'd go with cornbread and a green salad. But for an interesting twist, go with polenta or fried polenta. I love that stuff better than cornbread.

We usually just have Chili & Cornbread.

I agree with the masses here about the cornbread, but to spice things up a bit, I usually serve it with a variety of optional add ins that the guests can help themselves to as well, such as diced tomatoes, onions, green peppers, some spanish and black olives, shredded cheeses, and hot peppers. Also, a few salsas are always a good add on to chili. Even a couple kinds of beans on the side, rather than adding them to the chili itself, allows your guests to make their own concoction that they will love without any of the add ons they might not like :)

a nide loaf of french bread. And all the foppings for chili such as Cheese, onions, sourcream, and oyster crackers.

corn bread. set out some tortilla chips too.

Hot dogs and hamburgers!

Baked Potato & all the toppings; sour cream, cheese, onions, bacon.

You should always include a salad but in addition to that I'd say use the chili to make chili dogs and chili burgers. Also, it's a good idea to include tortilla chips or Frito's to use as spoons for the chili. Beer in addition to soda for drinks if you're adults. Have a great time!

Tamales , Hot dogs , and Corn Bread.

Cornbread and salad!!

corn bread! and a nice cold beer! Don't forget the cheese, chips and sour cream!

Well you do not need to cook a whole other dish. Work with the chili to make it more interesting. For example, put a whole bunch of different garnishes out for everyone to add to their chili, like grated cheeses, sour cream, hot sauce, green onions, guacamole, etc. Or... you could supply tortilla chips and let everyone make their own creation with all these ingredients.

pepto bismol or immodiums! LOL

Chips and salsa, definitely! Cornbread is good too...
