Need some simple food ideas for my son's first birthday?!

Question: Need some simple food ideas for my son's first birthday!?
NO Pizza, Hamburgers, or Hot dogs!.

My mother in law, step mother in law, aunt(s) in laws are all helping me by bringing one crock pot to the party!. Witch would happen to be 6 crock pots all together (witch should be more then enough)

I was going to have some pretzel and chips plus juice boxes for the kids, along with water bottles and sodas for everybody else!.

Now I just need to figure out what were going to eat!. The party starts at noon so its right at lunch time

I was thinking about having some sweet and sour beat ball's (I know the kids love it kid that is coming has had the meat balls) Maybe some pulled pork, a vegie tray!? I don't know!.!.!.

So far there is an estimated of 33 for sure so far, but there is a chance of possibly 5 more people coming!. (now my son and everybody going all know each other very well)

So I'm not sure if that will be enough or not!? There will be cake and ice cream after presents !.!.!. so !?!? Ideas!? What would you do!? I don't want to order food (not junk food anyways) I know its my son's birthday but he's only ONE, and he doesn't need to be eating pizza just yet!. Maybe for his second birthday later on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
ok maybee some chilli, sloppy joes, sandwiches, cheese dip, pulled pork was a good idea as well as the meat balls, a veggi platter and fruit, marshmellows they have holiday colors out now kids love them, chips and dip, warm spinach dip and bread, chicken wings, baked beans, potato salad!.!.!. if you just make a wide variety of foods youll have enough every one can just have a little of every thing!Www@FoodAQ@Com

A platter of little finger sandwiches (ham and cheese, turkey, roast beef, chicken or tuna salad), a raw vegetable platter, pasta salad, mac and cheese, crackers, goldfish crackers, chicken nuggetsWww@FoodAQ@Com

since your son is going to be 1 yrs old finger foods would be best maybe some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for those that do not like sweet and sour meat balls ,sloppy joes would go along way use bread instead of bunsWww@FoodAQ@Com

Which!. It's which!.

Do sandwiches!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know you hate to waste those crock pots, but can I suggest deviled eggs and Finger Jello!? Finger Jello is just jello that is made with less water so it sets up strong enough that you can eat it with fingers!. You can cut it into clever shapes with cookie cutters, or just serve it in squares!. Deviled eggs go over real big with every age in my family!. If you aren't in a position where you have to worry about some yucky spills, some of the stuff that would work in the crock pots would be baked beans, hash brown potato casserole, tuna noodle casserole, corn, green bean casserole, sloppy joes, sweet potatoes in orange juice, spiced mashed peaches, chili or soup!. Fritos are good with chili!. Or you could do tacos!. Kids generally don't seem to like to experiment much so if there are a lot of kids there, stick to stuff they are somewhat familiar with!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
