Answers:
First of all, NO GAMES! WAY TOO DORKY for 13 year olds!Take them out for pizza,(or order in), and then let them come home and "slumber" on the floor, talk about boys, watch rented videos, jacuzzi, (if you have one), eat cake, paint their toenails, just let them enjoy each other and be "little ladies" all night! They'll have a GREAT time! My sister and I just did it for my 12 year old niece's birthday, and they had a BLAST! We also cooked them scrambled eggs and toaster waffles in the morning!Totally EASY, and they loved it!!!

wow if your his mom heres an idea remeber hes not six any more. just let him have some freinds over and give them pizza and rent some movies.

You should have some thing like way back when or something.

You could go um.............play 7 up

get a DJ and tell mom and dad to get out of the house

Order some pizza, let him have some friends over and maybe some video games. 13 is a tough age and the best thing to remember is not to embarass him with too many decorations or "pre-planned games/events.

THEY SHOUND PLAYED TWISTER AND SPIN THE AGE GAME. IT,S LIKE ASKED A QUESTION INTHE 70,,,,S MAYBE AND DRESS UP LIKED SOMEONE THEY THEY LIKED TO BE TO IN THE WORLD>

how about having a color theme, or a theme of some sort, I remember waTching van wilder and saw that they had a toga party. how about that?? as for games... why don't you let some people bring a game idea, instead of a present of course (that's the only way people will bring the ideas)

A disco party
and dress up in 60's styles or 70's 80's

you could have karoke competitons
best dressed.

have everyone write down there favourite song or 2 and then make a cd of this
then everyone can brain storm a name for the cd and design a cover

there are lots of things to do just have a good think about it

have fun!

pimps and hoes is a really good theme!

how about marty gras

hippie, 60's 70's 80's styles. They are always awesome!! Especially when everyone looks so strange with all the bright colours

happy birthday!

hope its a success

You didn't say whether it was boy or girl. However I reckon at 13 you want your mates to think you are cool. Maybe a creatures of the night type of theme. As for things to do, I don't think that teenagers would think it was very cool to play games, but they might still want the choice, as an alternative. I'm going very old school now, but I remember a game I really enjoyed where pictures where cut out of a magazine of celebrities, some well known and some not so and it doesn't even have to be all celebs, it could be world leaders past and present, and they are numbered and you have to identify them. Stick them on the walls, curtains type of thing. Everone has a sheet of paper and pencil and has to write down their answers. (could be lame, could go down well ...) Ask your kid what music they are into because I reckon that has got to be very relevant - they MUST be playing the right type of music. Going old-skool would probably go down ok - you know like Twister, charades, pictionary, especially if they have to dress 80's (which is actually in fashion at the moment so that concept might be somewhat confusing).
If right now I was hosting a 13th b'day party and it was girls only (or boys only) I would do a camping outside sleep-over. Just provide all the junk food and have an extension cord that reaches outdoors to the tent that can power the TV and DVD player, and leave them to it!

an alphabet party

p party:

pea salad/pasta/pringles:)

How about an American Idol party? I think teens really could have a good time with this theme. Provide dress up clothes and props for the kids to use. Allow them to choose partners or groups, or give them the option of performing solo. Give each guest a pretend microphone (put their names on them if possible.) The microphones will also serve as a party favor. Let the "contestants" choose music and allow them to prepare a song/dance/lip sync routine in another room. Pop popcorn and enjoy the show as each "number" is performed. (Set up some sort of stage area with lights/balloons/streamers if possible.) Have each guest vote on the best acts...most humorous, best voice, best dressed, silliest, etc. Make sure you have someone to video the show for later viewing. Hand out trophies and serve cake while everyone watches the video. Fun, fun, fun! Good luck!

Just don't have a dress-up party because they irritate the crap out of people... Just do something laid back or have a disco... At my age they went down quite well especially if a water fight broke out =]

We used to have "tail gate parties" - with a cookie cake before we went to the movies or skating or bowling, miniature golfing. It took about 20 minutes to eat the cookie cake, open gifts, then I would hand out favor bags (usually with candy, silly string, etc.) and then we went inside to do whatever activity my son's picked out.

That way - you have the "party" but it wasn't dorky like a little kid's birthday party.
