How to cook rice til it is fluffy?!

Question:

How to cook rice til it is fluffy?

Answers:
If you cook a lot of rice, invest in a rice cooker. It can make a huge difference.

Do it the hispanic way and brown it in a little oil first before adding water.

I use long grain rice and cook one part rice to two parts water. Cook for about 15-18 mins on the lowest heat on the hob - check after 15 mins to be on safe side.

I find basmati rice to be a bit stickier but long grain goes nice and fluffy and all the grains separate this way.

Hope that helps :)

Just follow the directions on the box. What most people do wrong is that they keep lifting the lid on the pot and or strir it every so often. DO NOT LIFT THE LID AND DO NOT STIR IT UNTIL THE PROPER COOKING TIME HAS COME! tHEN STIR IT LIGHTLY...

In a 2 quart microwave dish, mix 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water, and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Place lid on it and microwave on high for 20 minutes...perfect rice! :)

Buy a rice cooker! If you make rice the regular way you just get flat rice.

Use a rice cooker...they are great! My husband is a chef from Costa Rica..a rice connoisseur...he cooks perfect rice all the time using ours. They are super easy.

The secret is to rinse the rice very well with cold water before you cook it. boil it till its three quarters cooked and then steam it. ( a collander and pot make a good substitute if you dont have a steamer). Try adding veg/chicken stock to the water when boiling the rice - just makes it that much more interesting!!

I picked up a microwave rice cooker from K-mart. I use 2.25 C Basmati rice, 1 Bullion cube, and 3 C +2T of hot water. (measurements are based on the scoop that come with the rice cooker - converted into standard cup measurements)

Put the lids on the cooker, pop it in the microwave for 18 minutes at 70% power... perfect fluffy rice every time.

Just dont over cook it, keep tasting until just soft take out of hot water asap as serve.

Definitely invest in a rice cooker we got one as a Christmas gift and we use it at lest twice a week you won't believe how much better the rice tastes trust me and they only cost about thirty dollars. Just make sure that before you cook the rice that you rinse it well with cold water or it will have a smell to it and be really sticky

rinse with cold water, until water comes off clear.

place in pan cover with water, if 1/2 inch rice in pan put 1/2 inch water over top of rice

add butter to water

cover with aluminum foil and bake 350 for about 30 min
time is really oven dependent but should be close
