Ashley, come on. don't be like that. Pop is also a noun. We called my Grandfather "pop" while he was alive and still do now that he's dead. And the sound 'pop' is also a noun. People from different regions call it soda, pop, or even sody. Just accept it. Viva la difference.

soda...unless u wanna sound funky, like me

hmmm... I can see that this is important to you. Around here in the south we don't call it pop or soda much for that matter. We usually refer to it as "a coke" or "a drink" meaning coke/dr pepper/mt dew/or whatever softdrink.

carbonated cr**

Depends on the area you live in.I call it a coke normally.

I'm in Southern Illinois where we all call it soda. Now, go up to Chicago and everywhere you look it's advertised as pop. Doesn't make sense to me either.

soda. Its a pet peeve of mine too!

in the midwest we tend to call it pop....you wanna try to pop me? just give it a try! people who whine about their pet peeves are my pet peeve

mid-westerners call it "pop", this is simply more proof that they are a degenerate breed of diminished mental capacity.

we called it coke when i was growing up.

Best answer here!!!! Actually it was originally referred to as "SODA POP". Most northerners just use the last half and call it pop, while southerners call it soda. But you are partially correct about he verb thing, since the "pop" in soda pop refers to the sound it makes when you take the top off (back in the old days when it came in glass bottles without screw off lids).
Interesting side note: Some places refer to any type of carbonated beverage as "Coke". So you may hear someone ask Do you want a coke? When you reply yes, they may ask you which kind you want, Sprite or Mountain Dew.

"POP" is Soooooooooo Good, my POP drinks it with his POP we all three love to drink pop, as a matter of fact we named our pup, "POP"

well in Australia, it's called...soft drinks

We call it soda here and I call it sodie. I probably am somebodys pet peeve also. Call it what you want. There are far more terribly awful things to be worried about in our world around us. :-) RIght????????????????????????

I call it a drink, for example what would you like to drink. We have coke, pepsi, etc.

Generally, in America they call it either, or sometimes both (Soda pop), but it's just a matter of opinion. Here in Australia we call it soda or fizzy drink.

I was calling soda "pop" since I was small. I think it depends on where you were born or what country you come from. Me, I am from Ontario, Canada. We say "POP"

soDa..............

isnt shot a verb, u do drink shots dont u. soda pop cola who knows, it just depends on where your from

nether?

i call it pop or a soft drink or a fizzy drink or fizz
it depends

its soda pop is back in the 1970's

Depends on where you live in the country. I'm in Virginia and we call it soda but all my relatives in Pennsylvania call it pop. Get over it. I'm sure you don't call everything by it's so called "proper" name so get a clue and some respect for others that live in this country.

we call it coke, whether it be coke, mt.dew, ski, dr.pepper, whatever kind.

A huge pet peeve of mine is idiots that let stuff like this bother them.

It's soda, pop is a noise.

It's soda pop!!!

Actually it varies widely depending on where in the country you are located. For example, in the Northeast States, the drink is typically called "soda". If you were to travel to the North, in areas such as Michigan or Ohio, "Pop" is more common. Also, in the midwest, "Coke" is used instead of "pop" or "soda" (even though to me that's ridiculous, because Coke is a brand not a type of drink.. but that's the midwest for ya...)

Soda

Your questions suck. At least mine give a laugh.

...call me?
