One 1st birthday I went to served pasta and different sauces for everyone - the kiddies one was tomato and vegetables and then the adults was more substantial - both were yummy!.
You could always serve finger foods and cake to keep it simple!.

My son is a January birthday so I know how you feel!. We usually rent an indoor place (depending on the size of the party)!. The Little Gym is a great place for onesies!. I did cake (some stores will provide a free, smaller cake for the birthday baby)!. Individually cupped ice creams!. It's way easier for smaller hands to handle!. Chick-fila nugget platters, cheese and fruit platters!. The party trays usually have crackers and other foods you would feed your teeny beeny anyway!. Goldfish, veggie trays!. This way the adults can gobble up what's left and your're not stuck eating snack sized foods the week after!. Hope this helps :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Simple is always best when dealing with smaller children!. No planned games, because the child may have a different set of priorities!. And always have plenty of foods that most 1sies love!. PB and J, cheese, cheese puffs, etc!. I would have small jumping contraptions, merry go rounds that you rent or those jumping contraptions with the balls in it!. you can usually rent these!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
PIZZA! Everyone loves PIZZA! Ice cream cake and cupcakes!
Goldfish or animal crackers for the kids! Veggie platter for adults!
Chicken nuggets or mac and cheese for the kids! For adults- you can do a mac and cheese casserole!
Cold cuts platter with hard rolls is another idea! Can make PB and J sandwiches for kids! Some snacks!
