How can you throw a good party if your guests bring children?!
when i throw a party i won't normally want children to come but for future reference how can i anticipate and be ready for children when they get bored or wild or misbehave!? any advice!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Add a few additional things for children like juice boxes, toys (leggos, building blocks, drawing stuff, dressup, dvds) and have some additional food for the kids such as fries and nuggets or mac and cheese!. Its kinda hard to throw a party and entertain your guest to make sure that they are having fun but on top of that you have to worry about having children around and to make sure they are having fun and not getting into trouble thats even tougher!. I would recommend having Invitations sent out and saying formal dinner for mr and misses such and such at 6pm & cocktail hour is at 7pm following dessert and coffee at 9pm!. That way hopefully they will get the hint that its a grown up party no children allowed!. Later maybe during the summer you can have a regular party or bbq with everyone including the children of all ages!. Yeah so try to just make it a grown up party and politely say to the guest that no children are allowed if they dont get the hint the first time then dont invite them back for that next formal dinner party!. Get a babysitter for petesakes its ok parents to have some time alone!. You deserve a break every now and then!. Enjoy yourselves :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Set up a room in the house specifically for the children, and have videos, games, and toys set up to keep them occupied!. It really depends on their age!.!.!. I've had wild parties in the past where very irresponsible mothers have brought their babies, but somehow everything was fine!. I guess because the child was so young, they couldn't really get into anything yet or understand what was going on around them!. However, if toddlers start showing up, it would help to have a room free of clutter and dangerous objects, and have their parents bring some of their favorite toys along!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

that should really be something that the parents take care of!. That's rude for someone to bring their kids if they don't listen and ruin everyone elses day!. I had the same issue when i got married!. We asked for no small children and i definitly heard about it from my inlaws!. Oh well, can't control everyone else!. Maybe if you have a daytime party for a bbq or lunch, then they'd understand that there is not an unlimited invitation and would take their kids home when the time comes!. If you have a daytime party for everyone, clearly state- the kids are welcome to be there!.!. then maybe when you say that you're having a night time party (with alcohol!?!?) and don't mention kids, maybe they'll get the hint!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Tell the parents to leave the kids at home!. I have had this problem!. People think they have to drag their kids along everywhere!. Adult parties are not appropriate for children to attend!. If there is going to be drinking - the kids should stay at home!.

Get them to bring their own entertainment, ie!. games/Wii and make it clear to the parents that they're responsible for their own kids, including breakages! Make it clear to them what your parties are like and question whether it will be suitable for children to witness that!. Don't change your arrangements for them - it's your party, not theirs!Www@FoodAQ@Com

My brother did that for his wedding reception and the majority of people were happy that there wasn't kids lying and running around the dance floor, knocking tables and being round the bar when you're trying to carry drinks!. make some healthy-good tasting snacks like carrots with chocolate, apples with sprinkles on them, bananas dipped in caramel!. Or if you have a jumper (those big bouncy things) you can throw that in your party! Play freeze dance they will love that! Do a puppet show! Arts and Crafts! Let them decorate some cookies!. Play some original games like clapping games or hop-scotch or hide and seek!. Tell them that it is a crazy hair day or bring a stuff toy day!

depends on what you consider a good party!. If you like to get hammered and act a fool then it is best not to have children anywhere around!. They don't need to be around such things and to see their parents like that could really mess their heads up!. If you like to just hangout listen to music talk and have a couple drinks with no intentions of getting trashed then yes it would be okay to have kids around!. Any game system is the right answer we have wii, xbox and the gamecube and when my kids have friends over I will have kids on all three games!. They love them, just beware of the types of games make sure to have some variety or make sure the other ppl coming know you have a game available and if their child has that game maybe they will bring their own game and I bet you wont see them unless they want refreshments!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When I was a kid and I had to be dragged along to adult parties there was usually a room or a basement where there were games and other things for all the kids to do and the adults either checked in on us from time to time or there was a 13-15 year old also there who was the unofficial babysitter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
