Question:

What are some old(ex. 60-90's) DRAMATIC films?

Answers:
The ORIGINAL Manchurian Candidate (may have been early 60's though)
The 39 Steps - brilliant Hitchcock film from the 30's I think

Sophies Choice with Meryl Streep (Very Dramatic)
A Ghost in the Darkness (Michael Douglas) Not a story about ghosts at all, but a true story based in Africa, the "ghost" is actually a lion.

Ordinary People - Mary Tyler Moore, Timothy Hutton (Academy Award winner for this role), and Donald Sutherland - early 80's?

Breakfast at Tiffany's - Audrey Hepburn
Has its funny moments but really is a sad, touching story (60's)

Sophie's Choice - as previously mentioned

A River Run's Through It - Brad Pitt (90's)

Casablanca - (40's)
ALL TIME CLASSIC!

Love Story is a pretty classic choice.

IMDB has a nice list at http://imdb.com/chart/drama of the top-rated dramatic films that you should also take a look at.

Life is Beautiful is one of my favorites from the 90's. It won an oscar. It is a dramatic film about Italian Jews during WWII. A man sneaks his son into a concentration camp with him and protects him by telling him it's all a big competition to see who can win a real tank of their own. It is the only movie in the world where I laugh while tears pour down my face!

What does this have to do with entertaining?
