What's a good food to bring to a party?!

Question: What's a good food to bring to a party!?
My friend Ellen invites me to parties at her house every single night and when I ask her what to bring she always says "bring whatever you want!." What should I bring!? And how much should I spend!? I live in a rich neighborhood and the grocerie stores here charge a lot of money for food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The easiest crowd pleaser is cooked shrimp and hot sauce!.
If your budget is tight, make a big tossed salad throwing in what you've already got in the fridge like olives and shredded cheese!.
For a quick easy choice, bring popcorn, or sandwich halves or green grapes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Have you ever actually been to one of her parties!? What do you see there, wine!? fried food!? chips!? healthy stuff!? Go with the flow!. If you haven't been, bring something that the host can, but doesn't have to use at the party!. A bottle of wine, chocolates or a dessert she can enjoy later, or even some bath soaps or something seasonal!. The point is to say 'thanks' for inviting you over, not that she doesn't have enough food so you have to help out!.
If you live in a rich neighborhood but aren't rich and can't afford to buy food there, I suggest you move!. That makes no sense!.
At a semi-formal or formal occasion, a hostess gift should be $20-$30!. A less formal occasion can have a homemade gift or something less expensive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A bottle of wine or box of nice chocolates always sounds spifftacular, doesn't it!? But if you are going practically every night, it is not practical and not financially logical to spend $10-$15 bucks a night just for a free meal!. You must be good friends or she wouldn't want to have you there every night!. Be frank with her and tell her you want to contribute something, but bringing a bottle every night is ridiculous!. Do you bring home the leftovers!?

I'd say look in your fridge and your pantry and see what's there and how can you put it together for just a small plate of snacks or to add to any dessert she has planned!. Do you have a can of tuna!? Make some tuna salad and process it in your blender until paste and dab on those crackers on the shelf or make about four sandwiches and cut them into tiny squares!.

Use this website and type in what you have on-hand!. Even if it's "pasta" it will come up with hundreds of easy suggestions!.
