What are good decoration ideas for a candy themed sweet 16?!

Question:

What are good decoration ideas for a candy themed sweet 16?

I am having a "sugary sweet 16"...its just going to be in my backyard since I dont want a big fancy party. So far i have rainbow candy canes attached together to make hearts and im thinking about making candy trees for centerpieces and thats about it. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Answers:
-I did this one once: Glue gummi candies to cheap white lampshades (I used paper ones... the chinese lanterns) and the colors really explode when the lights are on.
-But styrofoam balls and paint them different colors and stick the ends of lollipops into them. You can mount these on something for a wall, level the base for a table or even hang them from the ceiling!
-Make fake oversized candy, like a large candy cane out of a pole and ribbon winding around it... maybe for an entrance?
-Make garlands out of lifesavers or something easy to string. Tie a knot through a lifesaver, then move down the string about 10 inches and repeat.
- A funny one... make a decoraiton out of cheapie toothbrushes to remind people to clean their teeth after all that sugar!!! I though it was cute...

Hope you have a great super sweet 16 party!
Goodluck!

jolly ranchers are good and colorful

Buy some thick styrofoam at a craft store, square or round pieces, wrap them in colored cellophane or stiff cellophane wrapping paper, even wrapping tissue can work tho,so they resemble pieces of candy, />O>/,circle or squared center, tie on 2 sides so ends flair out ...
or make some candy wreaths..wire wreath with hard candies tied on it to fill it,tie with yarn so each piece can be cut off to eat..
or buy some cheap plastic champagne glasses & fill with small candies..place at tables..

Hook and tape candy canes to a string or yarn and use as garland. You can also tape lollipops.

Good luck, have fun and Happy Birthday!!

it would be relly pretty to get a clear vase for the center of each table ( or a few of different sizes) and fill them with layers of jelly beans, m&ms, jolly ranchers, any candy that looks the way you want it to. V. Simple and you can be creative with the colors you choose.

Give gift bags with candy in them to your guests... and maybe a mini toothbrush or something.

if you haven't sent out invites yet cut pieces of paper to size so they can be wrapped around a candy bar and print you invites on those and then attach them like the wrapper. Or you could do this for placecards if you are assigning seating.

One word: Pinatas!

For dessert you could decorate a round cake like and M&M or a skttle.

Or you cound have an ice cream sundae buffet with lots of toppings to choose from.

You could serve pink lemonade with those fruit clices candy as garnish.

candy necklaces for guests, like a hawaiian lai, upon arrival.

have fun!

What a fun theme!

Take those old-fashioned candy dots that come on paper and cut them into strips and make paper chains.

Make a lollipop tree.

Or a gumdrop tree. Both colorful.

Use a couple of large gumdrops as balloon weights too.

Have an old-fashioned taffy pull.

Have a pinata filled with goodies! It fits the theme AND gives you an activity!

Happy birthday!
