Answers:
a half stick is 1/2 cup or 8 tbsp!.it depends on the recipe some recipes have been tested and margarine is o!.k!. if a recipe calls for butter best to follow the recipe!. it's been tested!.they both have 2 different compositions!.margarine is more watery,so batters and cookies will be runny!.butter tastes better so i figure if you are going to go to the trouble to make something, make it taste good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

One stick of butter is 1/4 cup, or 8 tablespoons!.

You're going to have trouble with your recipe, if you use "tub butter", as it's been whipped and has more air incorporated into it, so you're going to get an incorrect measurement for the butter in your recipe!. Hope this helps, and Enjoy!!!
