Superbowl Cake

Use your favorite cake mix and bake as directed on the package baking in a rectangle pan.
To make the grass tint coconut green (click here for how to tint coconut), and cover top of cake with green coconut.
Use white frosting to mark the lines and numbers on the football field.
Frost the ends of the field with your team's color and pipe their name on over the frosting in white.
Make the goal posts out of straws using small blobs of icing to stick them together. Use liquorice tubes to sand the goal posts in.
Add football figures (optional).

this not a dessert but how about scallops wrapped in bacon.

The best super bowl treat would have to be for me buffalo wings their the best

there's this awesome trail mix-like thing i love to make.
first you pop a bag of popcorn, doesn't matter what flavor, but plain is probably best so it doesn't mess with the flavor of the other foods. then you add some peanuts or almonds or some kind of nuts. next you put in some chocolate chips or m&ms. after that add some pretzels. then some dry cereal, preferably not cornflakes because those crumble too easily, things like cheerios are good. last thing is raisins or dried cranberries. finally top with some salt, sugar, cinnamon, or whatever floats your boat.
serve that with soda or something and you're good to go. :]

If you go for a dessert treat, I would suggest something that can be eaten with your hands, something like cookies or cupcakes

i go to a oriental market and buy lumpia wrappers. then go home and take some ground pork and add scalions cut into small pieces. add 1 egg per pound of meat. add some seasoning that you like and some bread crums.mix together well. take a small amount of the meat mixture in a wrapper and roll up. when you have them all rolled up. cook in a frying pan with about 1/2 inch of oil. they cook up crisp on the out side and nice and tasty on the inside. you can dunk them in sweet and sour sauce. great finger food.i made 200 for a small party and they were gone in 30 min.

Mini-cheesecake cupcakes

Nachos with Guacamole, Chicken Fingers, Pizza, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies!

When the Cowboys played the Steelers, we used food coloring and made cupcakes that were white cake mix with blue food coloring mixed (swirled in) & yellow cake mix & mixed red & blue food coloring then added more red to make it darker to make a "blackish" coloring for the old black and gold. Everyone loved them. Follow directions on the boxes of cake mix. :)

Sorry but when your talking Superbowl it has to be meat, and the best way to feed a crowd with good tasting meat for a decent price is chilli. Heres my recipe.
3 cans of chilli beans
3 cans of kidney beans
2 cans tomato sauce
2 large cans stewed tomatoes
3-4 pounds ground chuck cubed or sirloin cubed
portabella mushrooms
5 tbsp of chilli powder
2tbsp of cumin
2 tbsp of ground mustard
and 1 can of chipotle peppers in adobe sauce( unless you dont like spicy)

cook meat then blend peppers and then throw everything in pot and slow cook on med-low for about 4 hrs
You just dont put out cakes and treats for a Superbowl party, save that stuff for a tennis party or something.

A sheet cake shaped like a football. Covered in chocolate frosting (for the leather color) and white for the laces. Lots of people love cake. And you'll get lots of points for making it yourself. It taste better too.

For a Dessert Superbowl treat, I would go with the cupcakes with little footballs on top (icing or plastic ones) - it's very festive!

Make Rice Krispy Treats with Coco Crispies instead of plain rice krispies. When the mixture is still warm shape into small football shapes (you may want to butter your hands so the mixture doesn't stick.) When the treats are set pipe on white icing to represent the laces of the football.
