Room Decorations
Balloons and streamers...the basic decorating stand-bys...are always an inexpensive and easy way to turn any room into a festive birthday party. Attach streamers from center of ceiling to each corner of the room. Use two colors and twist streamers for effect. Or...attach streamers from doorways or down walls. Use plenty of gold and black balloons. Tie in bunches of 3 around room and/or attach one balloon to the back of each chair at the table. Use extra balloons on the "birthday" chair. Give each child a balloon to take home after the party. If you already have some stuffed jungle animals (lions, tigers, elephants, monkeys) set those around the room. Have a few large potted leafy plants and/or ferns (artificial or real) around in room to create a jungle atmosphere. Greet each guest with a pith helment or safari hat to set the mood. If you want to go "all out"... a jungle wall mural can turn your room into a real jungle!

Table Decorations
Decorate your table with Animal Print theme paper goods for easy clean up. Tie a bunch of balloons onto a balloon weight and set them in an upside down pith helment or safari hat in middle of table for centerpiece. Or, use your cake as the centerpiece. Add several toucan candles.

Activity and Game Ideas
1. Survival Game - Everyone loves the Survivor TV program. Play your own Survival Game!
2. Monkey See - Monkey Do! - Play like Simon Says and give commands with a jungle theme. (act like a monkey, roar like a lion, etc)
3. Roaring Contest - Give prizes for the loudest, funniest, etc.
4. Pin the Tail on the Donkey - An old favorite at every birthday party.

Party Food Ideas

A cool idea for decorations is to use safari themed beenie babies ( if you don't have any look at a local thrift store ), another idea is
to go to plumparty.com or partywedding.com and look at the jungle-safari items. They have lots of cute items ( and they look resonable ). A cute cake idea would be to do it in a aligator or go to coolest-birthday-cakes.com they have some really neat ideas.
Hope my ideas help!

Playing dress-up always makes it more fun.

hoa about a safari trail i guess is simialar to a easter egg hunt but get some animals tape or cd and play it threw the day

This website is amazing makes party planning easy!

You can get kraft paper (usually sold at craft or office supply stores on a roll) and crinkle and twist it to make long vines, then tape or staple leaf cut outs from construction paper. You can hang green fish nets with leaf cut outs as well. The idea of the beanie babies is brilliant. They can hang off of the fish nets. You can place animal paw print cut outs outside leading up to the house. A sign saying "Welcome to the Jungle" outside pointing to the party can be painted on to a stiff cardboard that's ripped on the edges to make it look rustic. You can take old boxes and make them look like old safari rations and paint things on it like a red cross for medical supplies, or even "keep away - dangerous animal inside". Games like old mcdonald with everyone coming up with a different jungle animal is good. Your craft area could have paper plats with the eyes and mouth areas cut out, and everyone can design their own jungle/animal mask. The goodie bags can include a thank you card attached with a picture of your son dressed as a lion or leopard. your invitations can be in the shape of a compass with the arrow pointing to "FUN" in due north. have fun! wish i could be more help...
