Have an "advice for new homeowners" theme!. Guests could bring gifts that home owners need but like toilet plungers, boxes of light bulbs, brooms, etc!. also have a journal for people to record their advice in, like how to save on the heating bill or what tv cable company has the best customer service!. Party favours are not necessary but if you wanted to do something a little special for your guests, make up bags of nuts and bolts (the snack, not the hardware!!) for them to take home!. That's in keeping with the theme!. For food, do something simple like chips and salsa, veggies & dip, a fruit platter, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never heard of a housewarming party having a theme - the theme of a housewarming party is housewarming!.!.!.!.!.That being said, I would suggest a nice buffet being served in your new kitchen, with drinks in the new living room or den!. People will want to take a tour of your new house, so perhaps differnt little stations with different appetizers/treats in the different rooms would be fun!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would say no theme, but that's just me!.
I have never heard of a theme for a house warming!.
they should just be warm, and happy, celebrating something new with friends and family!

But if you are doing that, go with a color for your house, like do you love green, of tans!?
then have people bring something in that color!.(pillows, towels, candles)Www@FoodAQ@Com

a theme for a house warming is odd to me
its not like a birthday party so i wouldnt have a theme
the new house is the themeWww@FoodAQ@Com

Spring, have lots of daisies and such all over the house and buy everything in bright yellows, pinks, greens!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
