OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT - ideas wanted!?!

Question:

OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT - ideas wanted!?

Hi, im wanting to hold a movie night with a bit of a difference. i thought i could move my tv and dvd player outside for the night, and connect it to indoor electricity powerpoint with an extension cord. i was also thinking perhaps i could get picnic blankets so we can have a picnic at night under the stars while watching dvds. it will be a warm summer night here. there will be 6 of us women on the night. any ideas of what else i can add?any food or drink ideas? thanks heaps everyone!

Answers:
"Maid in Manhattan"
they watch a movie outside
have M&M's
wine
chocolate
dips, spreads and cheeses to go with baguettes, pita, chips, veggies, fruits
things that you can eat with your fingers would be easiest

How fun!!! My neighbors did that during the Christmas holiday and had a fire pit going as well. Your food and drink choices should reflect the needs of your guests as well as yourself. For such an occasion, you may want to forego traditional dinner or snack foods for something more chic. Perhaps your favorite take-out? Or have a potluck wherein everyone makes their most favorite dish. Lots of wine should round out the meal....and then there are those turtle brownies....

Depending on where you are, watch out for those pesky disease ridden mosquitoes. If you don't have that problem, I suggest, fried chicken, home-made potato salad, three bean salad and a nice white wine. Don't make the picnic too heavy, you'll want to be noshing during the movie on your all time favorite movie snacks (popcorn, non perils, raisinets, whatever you like) and drinks. Also, make sure you have pillows out for comfort.

Buy a zoom box (Tiger electronics, Hasbro.com) its a DVD projector. You could have chips and dip, snack mix in those cute chinese take out containers, soda, hot dogs and potato salad, popcorn with different flavor shakers.
