This is probably the most incoherent question I have ever read..

If I understand what you are wanting, party ideas for tomboyish girl age 14? right? for about 15 people right? Kids that age just want music and food and to be left alone. They are too old for "theme" parties unless it is their own idea. If it were me, I'd get a CD player a ton of pizzas and a ton of soda and let them make their own fun. Ask friends to bring their fave Cd's.

If you insist on a theme, I'd go for Mardi Gras, Luau, Movie night, or my all time favorite the costume party.

Mom of kid that age

First I think you should pick a theme,
Mardi Gras Hollywood Luau Pirate Party Fiesta 50's to Disco Western Beach Party Casino Sports Safari Summertime Fun Colorful Schemes Patriotic Black Light Party Be Happy Oriental Roaring Twenties Stars Super Bowl XLI Then try to decorate or dress according to the theme. Even the food can reflect the theme. Friends can help by giving ideas for the party. You can get together to decorate and make signs to hang around the room before the party. Make your own invitations to match your theme. Check out the web site I'm sending you for ideas.

They have murder mystery party kits that you can buy online or at a party store. can be fun if the group is into it. you could set up a bowling paty or a trip to an amusement park. you could do a movie theme and either pick a favorite and go with that theme or a themed bunch and serve food from the movie or somehow with the same theme. you could do halloween in march. the food can be deli sandwiches and fixins or cheese lasagne with garlic bread and a salad. both pretty cheap options, but can be vegetarian and lots of food. good luck!

14 can be a difficult age for a party......

A good way to go about doing this would be to find out her interests. She is tomboyish so frills and decorations wouldn't really matter to her. If her friends are going to be there, a proper party (like with appetizers and that pompous nonsense) won't interest her either. If family is there, she won't want her personal things displayed everywhere either, so no personal party-remember to keep family in mind.

Now for the things to do-it would be a good idea to find out her favorite foods. You said she's vegetarian so start with that. (And if the guests are not vegetarians, you could have a separate section for their food, kind of like a buffet line except with separated veg/non-veg sections so she doesn't feel left out and her guests can also enjoy good food. (Remember, parties are all about the food. They can make or break a party).

As for theme, it would be a safe idea to go with something like her favorite band, book, sport, hobby, etc. Anything that would be appropriate for family but still retro enough for her friends.

(EXAMPLE: If she likes, lets say Greenday, (the band) you could set up a kind of Greenday theme. Have their music playing, pop in some of their concerts/videos, have some [family friendly] posters of them up, and maybe if you can, play off the "Green" and serve green food. Get the idea?)

Well yeah, thats about it. If you need more help, you could always email me at skaur1290@yahoo.com. Hope it goes well!

I forgot to tell you that you still have time to order stuff from Oriental trading .com. they have awesome stuff that's cheap and they ship really fast. My birthday party was Hawaiian theme and I want to say my decorations were around $150 dollars. If anything you can get ideas and work off of that. Good luck!
