What do you think of this ?!

Question:

What do you think of this ?

I have to cater for a family gathering of 50 adults and 40 kids . Thats for a tea party and lunch.

Answers:
My family, my immediate family, totals 35 adult and 18 kids, so that's the number that gather for every holiday, family event or family outing. We cook in mass quantities.

There are two options for you.

The first: Design a simple menu with only a few items, like traditional tea sandwiches and petit fours (my personal recommendation) because you can make them in advance, make a variety of different kinds within the same menu and everyone loves them both.

The second: Recruit several other cooks and prepare a full on hot lunch for 90, with a beef course, a fowl course and a fish course, with traditional sides. You will need a carving station and a buffet line for this one. The difference in cost, time and results is great so you need to narrow your vision of what you want to do or what they expect of you.

t

well why are you doing it? thats insane

i think thats lame

any particular reason? you need loads of space, and loads of food.

BBQ!!! it's easy lots of fresh salads (tossed salad, potato salad, pasta salad), bread, fruit, meat and lots of paper plates!!! NAPKINS lots of napkins! buy cakes in slabs un-iced and then you can cut them to size or shape and ice them yourself it will save time! hire an urn and cups for people to make their own tea and coffee because making tea and coffee for 50 people will take a log time! try and buy in bulk!!! <(*_*)>

I think I'd do a pot luck thing. Everybody bring a covered dish so you don't have to do all the work. Otherwise, I would do a sandwich bar or have it catered. No Way I'd cook for 90 people.

a tea party! hey if you got the moneyh and the people then why not!
so go for it!

the best way to tell everyone to carry their own food with themselves and you just place and arrange them in your house
