Tupperware????
Someone in my family is hosting a tupperware party and I have no idea what to buy! I do not have any tupperware pieces. Everything in the book is so expensive that I want to buy something that I will get alot of use out of! Does anyone have any suggestions on a good piece? do you use tupperware and whats the m ost used item that I can benefit from? I'm getting married and moving into a new house soon, so I will need everything! Any ideas on tupperware?

Don't feel obligated to buy. Tupperware is REALLY expensive! If you still feel like you have to buy or you really want to buy something, wait until the party. There will be samples of items there that you can check out for yourself. If you really like one, go ahead and buy it. Generally you'll be getting a good product with tupperware... my mom's had some pieces since before I was born (almost 30 years ago!). So it definately lasts!!! Another idea, if you're getting married, make a tupperware wish list that one of your bridesmaids or maid of honor can distribute to guests before your shower or wedding. Then you won't have to worry about buying it all yourself! Good luck!
Oh, I love tupperware but I can't afford them. I would consider small storage pieces so you can put them in the fridge, carry a lunch, etc.
i would choose a tupperware bowl with a lid. bowls are always handy and can always be used as storage as well as a bowl. i don't know what the tupperware is like nowadays but i've had a couple of storage boxes from tupperware for 20+ years and a bowl with a lid. the bowl with the lid is the most handy
Something basic like a container for leftovers. Maybe small kitchen items.
Anything you buy will probably be useful. My fave items are the specialty items you use to transport food. I have a container that you carry deviled eggs in and I love it. The best thing about Tupperware is that if your piece ever gets damaged you can have it replaced free of charge.
I just went to a party and ended up with 3 bowls w/ lids for $31.95 U.S dollars. I figure I"ll use them for left overs, to bring salad or such to an invite. The tumblers and cups are good if you have little ones about.
buy a tuperware bowl to fit things like potatoe salad in. it is a good size and you can do bunches of stuff with it. the thing about tuperware is if you take care of it it will last forever.seems like a lot of money but worth it end the end.
I love their measuring cups and spoons. They are very sturdy and do very well in the dishwasher. I also like their cups and lunch containers. The drink container (long and narrow) fits really well in the fridge and does not leak.
i suggest some of the nesting bowls with lids. They are microwaveable and last a LONG time.
For a single item, perhaps the colander for draining pasta, rinsing salads, etc. I use mine on nealy a daily basis.
Tha smaller storage containers are good too
A big hit for us was the little sandwhich container -- just the right size for sliced bread. They were cheap and great for kids. They can be used for dry storage also (cut veggies, snacks etc.)
Go for anything square they fit better in the shelves and fridge.
ANYTHING you get will be worth it they have a LIFETIME guarantee! Even if it breaks! OR is old they replace it, OR did when I used to sell it!

Tupperware is awesome, but it is really expensive, otherwise I would have more. I was lucky to get some pieces for my bridal shower 17 years ago (!) and still have most of them. I've seen all of their recent stuff and lots of it is really nice, but not all of it is very practical to justify the expense. One piece I really like is a rectangle, probably about 16 or 18 inches long, about 6 inches across, and 5-6 inches deep. It has an insert inside with open slats and handles. (I know this sounds complicated.) What's special, is that it allows you to have two layers of stuff, separated by the horizontal divided. Great for cupcakes, muffins, squares. Another special piece I love is one that I found at a garage sale two years ago, but a friend of mine had it and I always thought it was cool. It's for pickles, and is a little larger than a quart of milk. It has an insert inside with a handle, and you transfer pickles from the jar in it, then when you want to remove pickles, you pull up the insert and the pickles come up, with the juice left in the container. No more fishing for pickles! Oh, I wish I had $ for more Tupperware...
I love Tupperware. I sold it when I was in college. I didn't have parties, just sold to neighbors. I ended up getting nearly every piece they made then. I like the shaker bottle. IF you make gravies or sauces or anything like that, this is a great piece. I also like measuring cups and spoons. What I don't like are the mixing bowls and a lot of the other baking items. The mixing bowls seem to hold grease or oil and are hard to keep clean for mixing things that can't have any oil in them. Larger storage items are good to keep flour, cookies, crackers and such fresh for a long time.
Ahh tupperware. I used to buy it from the opp shops with split lids and then get replacements (old for new- great policy!!) . Once i was sitting in a tupperware party and had amazing inspiration- why not wear the stuff... u can do just about anything else with it. It also has the alternative name of suckerware, because sales rely on friends and family buying something at exhorbitant costs. Having said that, iguess a lifetime guaranteed piece of plastic is something to get excited about.....
I would get something that you couldn't really buy anywhere else. I wouldn't buy the storage bowls because you can get really nice ones (by Glad or Ziploc) at Wal-Mart for cheap.
I'd get the The Lil’ Chopper or The Tumbler Bouquet Set (they look so stackable=they will take up less room in my cabinets!)
Tupperware is a rip off. Rubbermaid is fine and lasts forever too.
The 2 best choices for tupperware are:
1) Modular Mates - the storage stuff. My flour, sugar, brown sugar, pasta, snacks, baking soda, baking powder, spices, everything is in modular mates! Buy the small set or the spaghetti holder for starters.
2) The Cereal Keeper - the smaller one. I think it's $11.99. It is the BEST and keeps the humidity out of the cereal.
If you make your own marinades or salad dressings, get the shaker - it is wonderful! I love the keepers - my favorite is the one for pasta. The cereal box is great too. My mom still has all of her mixing bowls and lids, lettuce bowl and the little cups w/ lids that hold stuff like dressing and toppings for lunch. And, since you are moving into a new house soon, you should set up for your own party.
definitely the pickle drainer thing ! they come in different sizes so you could go for the smaller one. i get alot of use out of mine
call in sick to the party and don't go. tupperware parties blow.
salt and pepper shakers or the sugar and creamer..they last a long long time and are very useful......
