I am having a keg party, should I provide food?!

Question: I am having a keg party, should I provide food!?
And there will probably, at the most, be around 30-60 people there!. I am getting a keg and will have a bar with more alcohol as well!. I was just wondering what kind of food I should have!?!.!.!.Or if I should have any food at all!?
It's going to be a typical college party, and I have only been to one other college party in my life that actually had food provided to us!. All the others made me fend for myself!.
Should I bbq!? Should I just buy some chips and dip!?
There is also a $2 fee for the party, to help pay for the keg!. So should I provide food, or not!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
You should provide food, because they will probably drink a good amount, and if they eat food while they are drinking this will slow the absorption of the alcohol in their systems so they won't get as drunk and they may yet be able to drive home safely!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is important to have food at a party where there is alcohol so your guests don't get too wasted! ;)

You could set out a table and make some simple appetizers!. Here are some suggestions for a casual college party with beer:

Seven Layer Dip: http://www!.top-appetizer-recipes!.com/7-l!.!.!.
(very easy and you could make a couple of pans worth)

Buffalo Wings: http://www!.top-appetizer-recipes!.com/buf!.!.!.

Guacamole Dip: http://www!.top-appetizer-recipes!.com/gua!.!.!.

Artichoke Dip: http://www!.top-appetizer-recipes!.com/art!.!.!.

I think that gives you some good ideas to get started, but I definitely think your party will be a HUGE hit if you do include food as well!. Maybe you could charge a little more to cover the food costs too!.

Have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can offer bowls of chips and pretzels, or you can have a bring your own meat party!. It works out well if you have a grill, and everyone will basically pay for the most expensive part of the food!. Offer chips or mac and cheese, something really simple, to go along with the meat, if you want to offer food!. But offering food isn't necessary!. Just know you'll likely have fewer people vomiting if they have food to "water down" the effects of the alcohol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I used to have a friend who gave bring your own meat parties!. They were fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it wasn't college kids, I'd say you should definitely have food!. But, college kids are just going to be there to drink, and depending on the crowd, having food may just mean more mess for you to clean up!. If it starts earlier in the day, you may want food just so people aren't drinking on an empty stomach!. If it starts after dinner time, I wouldn't worry about having food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
