Don't worry!
Even if it is completely in half, use icing as a glue!. It always works i promise! Then, put it in the freezer! It will help:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cake Decorating Teacher!.!.!. She was stupid, but she was right:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

First of all: I <3 baking!.

Second of all: Here is what you should do!.
-First, just skip the cool whip in the middle!. Just put the frosting on top!. It will taste fine, promise!. It happened to me once!. After I get the frosting on top I take a spoon and dip it in the whip and kind of whip it into a little dollop on the cake!. It looks quite nice!.

-Act like it was supposed to be that way!. You'll be fine, don't worry!. Its your mom, not your boss!. :) Just make sure you give her love for her birthday!. :)

Hope this helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put the broken layer on bottom!. Push it gently together (try to make it look as "unbroken" as possible)!. Brush away the extra crumbs!. Put on the Cool Whip!. Spread it really carefully!. I'd use the back of a metal spoon or a spatula!. Then put on the top layer and frost as usual!.

Note: If you mean that one of the pans broke in half, you'll just need to bake the layers one at a time using the non-broken pan!.

You could also always go back to the store and get another box of mix!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

oh dear i had the same issue on valentines day where i just realised i should ave made just one cake and cut in middle so simple so easy but i ddnt ave time to do that so i had to cover the one that broke with whip cream and place at the bottom and filled the middle with some melted chocolate it was so good no body realised it was broken lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

if you don't have time to make another one; which would be the ideal thing to do, you can ice it together, then put it in the fridge most icings hard when cooled:) hope it turns out for your mom!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use the broken one as the bottom layer!. You might want to somehow mark where the ends of the break are so that when you cut the cake you cut into the crack!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use the broken piece for the bottom layer!. Once you've covered it with the cool whip & the top piece - no one will notice!Www@FoodAQ@Com
