I need instructions on making a centerpiece / appetizer from a fresh pineapple.?!

Question:

I need instructions on making a centerpiece / appetizer from a fresh pineapple.?

I saw this at a wedding; there was a fresh pineapple on each table. It had been cut somehow so that you could stick toothpicks in it and get out pieces of pineapple as appetizers. I need instructions on how to make it. Thanks!

Answers:
Carefully cut diagonals into the pineapple all of the way around. If it is easier for you cut off like 1/4 of the pineapple at the top straight through, and then cut diagonals into the sides of the bottom piece. Cut out the pineapple on the inside of both left over pieces. Slice the pineapple into chunks and put in bowl with whatever other fruit to make sure you have enough room for all of the fruit you want to put in there. Once satisfied transfer to the bottom of the pineapple that has been cut out and throw away the top of the pineapple.

cut out the middle and fill it up with some taller creative exotic fruit in a fancy artistic way.

PLANTERS FRESH PINEAPPLE:
1 fresh pineapple
? 1/2 cup rum
? 1/2 cup sugar
? 1 can sterno
? 2 dozen small bamboo skewers
Method:
Cut across the pineapple 6-7 inches from base. Use a small sharp paring knife and remove the fruit portion of the pineapple without cutting the rind. Cut the pineapple meat into bite size chunks and chill. Using the hollowed pineapple with a can of sterno in it as a centerpiece, arrange around it bowls of sugar and rum, pineapple chunks and skewers. Light the sterno. Skewer a pineapple chunk, dip it into rum, then sugar and glaze it over the fire.
