Try something like a rice or potato salad (even pasta could work). You can prepare it well in advance, and it keeps fairly well.

The great thing is that there is no 'set' list of ingredients, you can more or less make it up as you go along - you could use tuna, or prawns, or bits of ham, or corn, or peppers etc... just toss it in and mix it up (with mayo)

watermelon, pig feet, pork skins, corn, pickles, hot sause(bring the hot sauce) any rap cd u own, fruit punch, colt 45 miller lite....

baked beans
potato salad
cole slaw
a nice dessert

anything that you know a lot of people will like. try to stay away from unusual foods unless you know a lot of people will eat it.

salad, deviled eggs, baked beans, bottle of wine, depends on what the BBQ is.... fish? make a cole slaw.... Beef? Beans or potato salad Pork; Waldorf salad is always good.... or a great desert like dirt cake or home made ice cream

Avoid the BBQ Beef kebabs sold in tesco for something like 2 for 3 quid.

By the time theyve got to the checkout, theyre degraded to "Barbeque flavoured meat".

And your host and his guests will inquire as to what you've allowed them to eat, and most of your acquisition will end up in the host's household pets.

i would take a pasta salad coz it realy popular to take to a bbq just easy to make at home enjoy

Steak and beer lot's of beer

I love ribs but, they are a hard 1st time dish. I would recommend spode (if it is that kind of a party) (spode-a mixture of melons, strawberries, any bite size summer fruit mixed with vodka). You could always go with a boring old potato/macaroni salad. Rachel Ray from the food net work has a bunch of easy summer time recipes.

Baked pepper salad and lean lamb marinated in red wine, garlic, olive oil and rosemary.

Pasta salad with chopped up ham and mayonnaise.

steak!!!! and lots of other meat and stuff!!!

A pasta salad is good and easy to make. Just boiled your desired pasta and drain. After the pasta cools, add cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni and anything else you like. Mix a bottle of italian salad dressing into the ingredients and there you have it........an easy but good pasta salad

Pasta Salad, made the night before....You just boil-up some spaghetti noodles, in the drainer keep cold water on it..Get out your nice plastic big bowl w/ lid.....and add green onion cubed tomatoe, radishes, cucumber's diced, mushrooms, anything you want to put in it ....produce wise... Add your Zesty italian. Or potatoe Salad....... Chips, of all sorts..... Home-made baked beans.... Fried cold chicken, with yours, or someone you knows, favorite recipe... coleslaw home-made, with the yellow raisins !!! Yummo !!! Or for deserts, you could bring a nice double chocolate cake !! Everyone, loves chocolate, and it gives you all a nice pick-me-up, (energy) to keep the barbecue going !! Party wise, I mean... Have Fun, with it !!!
