What should I serve for my husband's birthday - more details inside?!

Question: What should I serve for my husband's birthday - more details inside?
My husband's birthday is March 30th and I am trying to get a little headstart on ideas.
I'm looking for:
1. Decoration ideas
2. An appetizer
3. A main course
4. A drink (Alcoholic or N/A is fine)
5. A dessert that is not birthday cake (he doesn't like cake)

A little background to help:
He is turning 28, we've been married a little more than a year, he prefers savory to sweet, he has a culinary arts degree, he likes dark, rich colors, he enjoys good alcoholic beverages of all sorts, and we live in Alaska so some specialty items I cannot get.

If you have a menu and ideas for decorations, I'd love to hear, and of course, 10 points for the one with the best answer.

Thanks!

Hi, my immediate thought is to make it a "destination" party. Im learning towards a romantic tour of tuscany. Id plan the menu for what feels right seasonally, decorate with candles and download some Italian dinner music. Decorate with grapes, oil or wine bottles. The food is the easy part, there are sooooo many great ways to prepare italian food - okay it made me cut out almost my entire response, so youll see below the recipies I was talking about, Ive tried them all, you cant go wrong. Dessert, possibly some roasted peaches served with a vanilla bean gelato. Drink, wine is the obvious choice (go red with heavy pasta sauces, and red meats, go white with light sauces, cream sauces, fish, and chicken)

Good Luck, hope this helps. Also, if Italy is not his thing (or yours), choose something else and start reseaching....France, Spain, Japan, Thailand, Greece, India, Mexico, you name it...have some fun!

first of all decorate yours room with the things your husband likes more provide him few alcohol which he like most bring a cake of your husband best flavours, gift him something his best, provide him italian pizza and other things he like.

How about fried ice cream?...it's delicious

Ahhh I love planning special occasions. I'm quite a foodie and chef myself so here are some suggestions:

Appetizer: stuffed mushrooms, French onion soup or Zuppa Toscana, Deviled eggs, herb-seasoned accordion red potatoes

Main course: Crab Cakes, seared salmon, filet mignon,

Drink: Pina colada, Mudslide, Sherry Temple, Champagne with strawberries, Canadian ice wine if available, Horchata, Apple Cinnamon Tea

Dessert: Bread pudding with buttermilk syrup, Golden Yam brownies, Chocolate mousse,
