What are some good themes/events to have at a bar?!

Question: What are some good themes/events to have at a bar?

My friends and I are trying to get our local bar back up and running. We've come up with a few ideas, but we want to hear what themes/party events have brought you and your friends out to the bars. If you could, please leave a small detailed summary of what the theme was and possibly what drinks were associated with it.
(i.e.) Mexico night - margaritas/pina coladas sold at half price, and anyone who wore a sombrero received three well drinks of their choice.

Kareoke, Trivia/Pub Quiz (live is better than electronic), Open Mic (comedy and/or music), DJ or Live Music, Happy Hour, and/or hosting special events like poker tournaments (must be careful of gambling laws, may need to play for not money), reunions and/or speed dating.

Life

Bring your own cup night- you basically bring your own cup and they had no restrictions, and you could fill it up for $2 with beer, you would choose the type of beer. Usually a cheep beer.

$2 Margaritta's always got us to go to a place, sometimes they wouldn't be very strong though, sometimes they would be real strong.

You could always do 50 cent Taco's on Margaritta Night too, cheap taco's always get people in.

2 for 1 night

karaoke night

Gay night
