I'm nearly 50 and haven't been in a cocktail lounge in a long time, but when I used to go to them I liked easy listening/pop. I used to have a boyfriend that made fun of my love of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Lounge lizard music were his exact words.
Chill-out music. Chill-out trance or electric music. There are a few cocktail places in my city and they are all playing lounge type chill out music.
