Help me, please?!
Help me, please?
I am currently training to be an Assistant Manager at a Mc Donalds(I am not proud of my job but it is a job) and the store is located in an area where lots of homeless people live. My problem is that I am worried that the store is losing business because homeless people are in the store, some buy food but most don't, and they camp out behind the dumpster area. Not to sound disgusting but I know that no matter how I put this next comment it will be disgusting. I have found stuff they leave laying around, stuff to clean off sex toys in our dumpster area and I have found bloody fesces in the dumpster area also. I do have a heart and I feel sorry for them but in order to be succesful in this business and in any business you have to make money. What should I do? I want to help them but my job is more important to me because it puts food on the table for my family.

I know that in the Chicago area many of the McDonalds call the Public Health Dept and invite workers to come out and help the homeless. When you find things like bloody diarrhea, then it tells me that someone's very sick.
Another good way to get them out is to call a local church to make them aware of the congregating homeless and to invite their outreach workers (especially if they have a parish nurse program) to come down and help these people.
Bottom line is that as long as you have food in the dumpsters, they'll be out there scavaging. Check with your regional manager for suggestions, but perhaps you can rearrange the trash pick up with your hauler so that it's removed earlier in the day.
On a personal note (and I'm not being funny), I'd do them a favor and pass out coupons to the nearest Burger King, Arbys or Wendys. The sooner they find food is more accessible somewhere else, the less likely they are to keep hanging out at your restaurant. If you have public relations money in your budget, you could even arrange to have coffee and burgers for them at a nearby church during lunch and dinner rush.
Is called loitering. In a nice way you need to tell them to move on to another area. If they don't then you might have to get the law involved.
Call the police.
this is a very touchy subject and no matte rhow you say anything it will offend someone... they are called homeless because they have no home therefore that does not give them the right to claim public areas as their homes...if they need to be somewhere then they can go to a HOMELESS SHELTER. if not then what they are doing is illegal. you need to ask them all to leave or call the police. i can see where you are coming from... u need the money and u need to get them to leave....
call the police and get a big dog
