If pate is a paste made of liver which is a very?!

Question:

If pate is a paste made of liver which is a very?

inexpensive food item, then how is it that it is an expensive item? Plus, a lot of people can't stand it???? Yes, this question is just for shi***s and giggles. But not my previous ones regarding food.

Answers:
goose liver ( not chicken) and exps, wine truffles etc. added to it.
I knew someone that loved good pate on french bread...( stinks like a goose liver!)

because harvesting goose liver is expensive.

because most liver expensive pastes are made from less farmed animals such as geese..

pate de foie gras (the expensive stuff; i probably misspelled it) is liver of a fat goose.

apparently something makes goose liver rare, or expensive, maybe even tasty.
