Cornbread. Is there anything wrong with that?!

Question:

Cornbread. Is there anything wrong with that?

Answers:
I agree it's great tasting stuff... but if you are on a special diet to help you manage diabetes or pre-diabetes, it's not healthy for you. Unfortunately what makes it taste so good is that it is loaded with high-glycemic white flour and refined sugar, which can definitely spike your blood sugar levels. Even the healthier part of corn bread... the corn... is one of the few veggies a diabetic should stay away from because of the high sugar content.

Subsitute a yummy bowl of old-fashioned slow cooked oatmeal with cinnamon and some nonfat milk (no sugar!), and it will fill you up the same way without putting your health at risk!

not at all! Eat as much as you like!

NO!

Especially if you use moms receipe...or you are from Iowa

why would you think anything is wrong with cornbread?

i dont like it but that means there's more for you then

Nope, especially with a hot steaming bowl of chili with it.

I hate cornbread, it has the nastiest taste and texture!
Now if your talking about the saying, like a cornbread man, then yeah i like that :)

Nothing wrong with it, knock yourself out.

Nothing at all.

No, but spice it up a bit with creamed corn, cheese & peppers!

mmmmm love the stuff. Pretty tasty with my navy beans and fried potatoes!!

nope, yummy

It's really good if you add some cheese and jalapenos to it.

I love my mom's hot and salty cornbread crumbled up inside an ice cold glass of milk...helps digest all that squash and fried okra....mmm!

OH YEAH!! Jiffy brand - better than a lot of homemade versions that I have tried. YUMMM -- Especially with Navy Beans and Ham Hocks. Or Chili Beans.

We have cornbread everyday with dinner.......its especially good with soupbeans and an onion, and the next day its good tore up and put in milk....gosh, can't wait till dinner now!

You can't watch football on Sunday without a bowl of chili and a slice of cornbread smothered in butter!!! Go Steelers!!
