Do you like green bean casserole?!

Question:

Do you like green bean casserole?

not me

Answers:
NO! But every darn Thanksgiving and Christmas I'm the one who has to make it for our big family dinner! And every damn year my Mom seems surprised to find out that I HATE it!

Eww, no.

it depends, like if there is to much salt or to much anything. reguraly i like it. but not alot.

my favorite!

Sorry, never tried it...not just answering for the 2 points...I love beans...and want to see the recipe...Brock, Vancouver, Canada.

Oh no I sure don't. My oldest sister insists on cramming it down our throats every Thanksgiving anyway. I am the one who does most of the shopping and prep for the dinner, so I intentionally leave out buying the ingredients for it. Sure enough though, when she finds out, she runs to the store and whips it up herself. You think she would get a clue when most of it is left over!

LOVE it!! But, don't buy the ready-made stuff in a can - it's absolutely VILE!

I am glad to find one other person in the world who doesn't think that green bean casserole is haute cuisine. When I was growing up, we never had it but I always saw the recipe on those French Fried Onion coupon pages. Hence one day in college, in my very first apartment, I served it for the first time: I liked all the ingredients by themselves, so the combination must be good too, or at least that was my thinking.
It ruined perfectly good green beans and made the onions soggy. In addition, between the sodium from the condensed soup and the onions, one bite used up my daily requirements for sodium for the next 50 years. Worst of all, the combo tasted terrible!
I ate the dish one more time when it was served at a pot luck supper. The only thing I can say in its favor was that the woman who made it had the courtesy to not ruin fresh green beans; instead she used the canned ones, with even more sodium.
I think we should send it to countries which we don't like disguised as foreign aid. May God protect us from green bean casserole!

I like it one time a year at Thanksgiving. It tastes even better the next day!

hate it because i hate onions.....yucky!!

I love it. I just had some today. I don't like anyone's except my mom's, though...because everyone else's is REALLY gross. Come over and try some of my mom's...you might change your mind.

Yes, I do and I'm proud of it!

Yes I do

hate the stuff

Love it, but maybe that's because I only get it three times a year - Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter Sunday.

I love green bean casserole! There are all different kinds of variations of it that change everything about it. I'm not a big fan of the back of the FF onion can; this is one of my favorites.

2 Cans whole green beans
1 Can cream of Mushroom soup
1 Medium Onion Diced
5 Garlic cloves
5 T Oil
1 C sliced fresh mushrooms
1 C shredded sharp cheddar
1 C shredded mild cheddar
1 C FF onions

I saute the diced onion and garlic in the oil. When the onions are caramelized add the mushrooms, then continuing until mushrooms are tender but not mushy. In a casserole bowl mix green beans and soup. Add sauteed onions, garlic, mushrooms, and shredded mild cheddar cheese. Mix. Sprinkle sharp cheddar cheese on top and bake until bubbly. Arrange FF onions over the top of your casserole and place under broiler until onions are light brown.

Love it!I make it often and if I have water chestnuts on hand I add them for extra crunch!!!I love asparagus casserole too.

I find this dish absolutely disgusting, regardless of any special ingredients the other respondents provide. Don't think I can say it any better than Bentley, though.

If I NEVER see another one, it will be too soon! Yuck!

I like green Bean casserole with bacon, you firs cook little pieces of Bacon and then mix with the green bean, salt and pepper.

Yes, I do. I saute real onions, mushrooms, fry and crumble bacon in it Sometimes I put cheddar cheese in it, and crumble Cheezits on the top, sometimes I use the canned onions on top.
I only ran into one person who did not like it, a former supervisor, who informed everyone that nobody should eat green beans at a Christmas potluck. They didn't. I took it home. She got fired, lack of doing anything on the job].

Yes, once a year - - but made with frozen gr.beans not canned.

still the same basic recipe, it really makes quite a difference.

good luck

I saw a programme on british television the other day about killing pigs and it sickening me and in recent years I have been trying to stop eating meat anyway.

Any bean casserole is fine with me, especially green bean casserole and you can change the sauce in the casserole.

not me either, it's just nasty to think of it.

no

Yes, I did, but for some reason everyone brings it each year and I got sick of it. It's too easy to make so everyone decides they need to bring a simple dish and that's what I get stuck with while I do all the rest of the dishes. I hope my family reads this too!

It depends on who makes it.

Love it!!!! especially with the onion rings on top

I can take it if its just two times a year.

No I like just plain green beans
