We are having an engagement party in 6 weeks. Any ideas of quantities of finger food?!

Question: We are having an engagement party in 6 weeks. Any ideas of quantities of finger food?
We are having a party to celebrate our engagement. Its in the evening and we are having a disco, buffet, finger foods such as sandwiches, sausage rolls, salad, desserts etc. I'm not very good with quantities so has anyone got any ideas of a rough estimate how much to buy. There will probably be about 100 to120 people coming. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

For an evening event, 5 pieces per person is about right meaning 5 finger sandwiches and sausage rolls etc as a total count not 5 of each kind per person. As a buffet item you'll need about 1 head of lettuce per 10 people for salad plus your other ingredients......3 or 4 cukes, 6 or 8 tomatoes, 2 peppers, etc.1 1/4 pounds of coffee will make 125 cups if you've got one of those big urns that are often found at rented facilities. If making egg, tuna, etc salads, about a quart of salad will easily make 25 finger sandwiches. as condiments for the table, 3 or 4 jars of a couple different kinds of pickles, 3 or 4 big bags of chips. When buying rolls for sandwiches buy something smaller than a hamburger roll to cut down on waste .A pullman loaf of bread has approx. enough bread to make 17 sandwiches. if cut for finger sandwiches you'll get about 60 sandwiches per loaf. Hope that helps a bit. Have fun!

120 people there you are going to at least want 120 sandwiches then everyone can have at least one, but if it was me I would at least want to have 2 or 3 sandwiches for each person so maybe about 350 sandwiches. Also about 10 bags of chips and snacks and also a veggie tray, if so like 5 and 5 or something) Plus probably about 5 cases of beer and 10 bottles of wine.

I don't know, but I'd trawl the web for wedding venues that do evening parties and see if it states how much they do.

personally I'd call the caterers for those numbers

allow for 2 of everything per person n it will average out o/k
