I am hosting my lil ones 6 yr old birthday party in 2 weeks!?? Help??!?!

Question: I am hosting my lil ones 6 yr old birthday party in 2 weeks!?? Help??!?
5 girls, 3 boys invited. I am doing disney princess/cars theme. I have never hosted one before. When doing the invitations do I invite parents too? I only live in a small 2 bedroom apartment. I am stressed, I know its only a party but no idea where to start. I was thinking of serving hotdogs and pizza seeing it is an afterschool party...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i think you should invite the parents and maybe buy a sheet pizza and find out what kinds of games the kids like.

Hiya, i know how you feel My sons birthday is coming up in march, but his last birthday was great.
Here is what we did that might help you:)
invite parents, they are always good to talk to and to help you out, some might stay some might not.
Buy the food in advance if you can, don't stress on buying to much, kids don't eat alot:), also try and get the food ready before party time.
some games could include pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey, musical chairs. little prizes are good, does not have to cost alot.
the main thing is have fun and enjoy the day, it will be all over before you know it, hope this helps:)

if you can, you can put on Disney music. You can give out candy and maybe pigs in a blanket. Pigs in a blanket are also called bagel dogs. If you want something else, you could try buying cream puffs. Maybe look up games--simple games

Try an outdoor party or a party room at your local community center. you should also serve cupcakes!

I taught preschool for 8 years and the best advice I have is this: start by having the kids come in, sign a poster board that you have laid out with colorful markers, they don't have to sign their name, just make a little picture (your child can save it as a memory after the party, and it gives the kids a transition into the party). Then have your child offer them punch, then let the kids dance to whatever music your child picks beforehand, to get out their "sillies". After they have danced a bit, call them over to play a game, any game that you want, give out little prizes if you want, but make sure they all get something. I always include an activity in which the kids can make something they can eat, so they stay busy and also, that is the dinner. The best is to take a can of refrigerated biscuit dough, so each child has one, and let each spoon on pizza sauce and decorate with toppings. Then you bake. Just make sure they each have their own square of tin foil to put it on so you can write their names on them so they know whose is whose. While the pizzas are baking, open presents. Then eat. If you still need more activities, the absolute most popular thing I have found is to make a treasure hunt beforehand. Each clue should rhyme and send them all over til they find the treasures. I know you said you have limited space so this might not work.
Hope my ideas help. This is the type of party I have always thrown for my daughter, no other parents, just a friend of mine there to help out. I notice that when the kids' parents are there, the kids get more emotional and act out more.
