Melting Pot Resturant?!

Question:

Melting Pot Resturant?

What is that resturant like? what do they have their? have you ever been there? can you tell me about it?

Answers:
I love it. They serve fondue.

The cheese fondues are good. The mexican one is like nachos I prefer the traditional swiss one (basically you dip bread into cheese). There is also meat fondues which you cook in oil and then dip in sauces (like bbq and such). They also have veggies. My personal fave is the mushroom you stuff with green goddess (chive cream cheese) dip in tempura and then cook.

The kicker is chocolate fondue for dessert. Melted chocolate which gets dipped with cake and fruit....yum.

Go hungry!

It's a fondue restaurant. An appetizer would be cheese fondue with bread cubes. Entree would be fish, beef or chicken with either a fondue pot of broth or oil. Dessert would be melted chocolate with either fruit or pieces of cake. Each person has a small metal skewer to pick up the bread/meat/fruit with and dip into the fondue pot. You get to cook your meat to your liking. No double dipping. They also have vegetables. It's a fun meal, and can be expensive.

It's outstanding.
It's expensive.
You will almost certainly order one of the combination meals.
The first course is a mushroom salad with a house dressing and a garlic-flavored spice to add to taste.
The second will be your cheese fondue, into which you will dip bread and raw vegetables.
The third will be a fondue entree, with several different types of meats and vegetables to dip into the fondue broth and a plethora of sauces for the cooked meat.
The fourth is chocolate fondue, with cakes and cookies and fruits to dip in it.
You will probably love ALL the food, but your wallet won't. It's a special-occasion place (anniversary, important birthday, etc.)

This is one of my favorite places. They have great food and I've always gotten good service. The food is fondue style which means you dip it into a pot of boiling oil to cook (meats, veggies, etc). You can also order a cheese course or a dessert course which are also very good. Their website is www.meltingpot.com and it has menus you can look at in advance.
good luck and good eating!

I just went to one with my wife for our anniversary and really enjoyed it. The decor and ambiance was great and the service excellent. We especially appreciated that the corkage fee was only $10 since we had a bottle of wine from home that we wanted to drink. The basic flow is this; cheese fondue, salad, main course (meats and veggies), and desert, all cooked at your table of course. We had the dinner for 2 (which doesn't come with the desert course) and left feeling more than satisfied. The meats can be duck, chicken, beef fillet, pork, prawns, or even lobster, and will be served with a number of complementary sauces. Save room for desert if you can though, as I'm told its really good.

We spent about $100 with tip and felt it was worth it. It's probably my new favourite spot for a special night out with my wife.

Hope that helps.

I haven't been there but a friend went and liked it, it is all fondue, she said the desert (choc) was really good.

good but waste of money. my friends and i occasionally have fondue parties, food is just as good, costs next to nothing.

chicken, beef, seafood, pork, vegetables and sweets. you cook it yourself. it is cozy and romantic. a little pricy but not real bad. a good idea for a place to go
!

I just saw a commercial for this place, it looks OK. I'm not fondue (get it? FONDue? Cheese pun... bad cheese pun...) of cheese, and I heard fondue is really gross, but I think I may be interested in the chocolate, but who else wouldn't :P.

It's really fun!
It's a fondue restaurant.
They usually start you out with a cheese appetizer. (Melted cheese in a pot that you dip bread and fruit into.)
Dinner is a pot of hot oil or broth and they give you vegetables, meat, seafood, or whatever and you put it on a long fork and cook it to your liking in the pot.
The desserts are amazing. There's a pot of melted chocolate and you can choose what you want to dip in and get coated in gooey, yummy sweetness. Anything from fresh fruit to brownies to cheesecake.

Essentially, you sit around a table and there's a burner in the middle where the pot of whatever goes. It makes dinner lengthy and fun and you can really take your time and talk to everyone you are with. And, everything is cooked just the way you want it b/c you are the one cooking!
