What is the proper way to address party attire?
"Semi-formal attire" or "black tie attire"? Is it appropriate to say it in that way or maybe just say "black tie" or "semi-formal"???

I think that you don't really have to say the word attire. When people see those words black tie and semi-formal they will know that you are referring to their attire. What else could it be?
umm you just asked this question... put what you want to put. it looks stupid to say attire with a formal event just say it is a semi formal or black tie event. the only reason you would put attire is if you were saying casual attire because it sounds casual and you want people to know not to dress up.
If attire is very important to the party, then you must address it. The way you address it will inform attendees and not really alarm them as a command or demand. If this is necessary to attend, then they have no choice. You could state "dress code required" to merely stating what the attire is. The more stern the more understanding and cooperative they will be. If your looking in what kind of dress code, i would suggest semi formal. That is dress pants and shirt for guys (tie or not) and evening gowns or church dresses for females, lol. Good luck at your party!
