Somewhat fancy dinner ideas?!

Question: Somewhat fancy dinner ideas?
I'm drawing a blank now that I need to put a menu together. I do not, I repeat, DO NOT, want recipes. It doesn't need to be expensive or unbelievably fancy. Basically it's for a birthday dinner, and I don't want it to be party food. I need elegant ideas.

I always find those crown roast porks with the paper chef hats on them to look great on a dinner table....and you can even fill the middle with a tasty stuffing.

Any kind of sides go...just depends on your taste and what guests would enjoy and keeping the menu food colors varied for an appetizing appeal....from green bean bundles or asparagus or brussels sprouts to sweet potato dishes or regular mashed or scalloped. I'd include something fruity....and colorful...and smack me if you want cuz you didn't want recipes...you'll never find another recipe like this one for making the best ROASTED cranberry sauce (to go with the pork flavor) than this...and pointing you to the recipe is the only way to do this...it's made with Triple Sec and has candied pecans>>fabulous! (besides...other people may want the recipe ;)>>

Okay so you take a electro static table cloth and paint it a blueish grey color when the guests sit down you turn it on and they all get electrocuted!!!!! Next instead of normal drinks you poor water with food coloring and a sedative. When they are all asleep but them back in their cars and drive them down the street a bit and when they wake up they will think it was all a dream!!!! Great plan!!

Chicken Marsala or Chicken Piccata. I personally don't like mushrooms so I make chicken marsala with sauteed onions instead. Both are easy but really good.
