If you're at a park make sure you have all the obvious kit - a football, a frisbee, a few cones (or similar items you can use for goal posts and markings), blankets or sheets people can sit on, and at this time of year you probably should have a tarpaulin or umbrellas people can huddle under if it starts to rain. Also make sure you take a binbag with you so no one can accuse you of making a mess. Bring an mp3 player with speakers for music too.
As for food, it depends how far away you're going to be from someone's house. If you're just across the street then it would be good to have ice lollies / cornettos, hot dogs, burgers, etc. If not then just take picnic stuff - sandwiches, crisps, mini sausages, cupcakes, funsize chocolate bars, coke, lemonade, a thermos of tea for the adults, and remember paper plates and plastic cups.
As far as food you can have tacos or pizza since it is just a casual get together. If you want it to be picnic like maybe some little sandwiches, or maybe a barbeque.
You don't have to have games but maybe you can set up things to do and give them a subcon choice. Like don't anounce any games but just set a deck of cards laying around and see if anyone plays on their own. Have some music playing. Maybe a football or something laying around with some music playing.
Mini pizzass with faces always go down well - and get them to eat some veggies! Make them with strong flour bread dough about 3-4 inches accross, tomato purree and grated cheese with red pepper mouths, mushrooms, sliced olives or gerkins for eyes, yellow pepper nose, blanched onoin eyebrows, and add gratted vegetable for hair.
