If you really want to cook then my answer will not help you unless you are good at making entrees.
I think you should go for a picnic theme.
So do a big selection of salty and sweet snacky finger food.
Since it is just the two of you you can buy small quantities of various yum yum's,
the idea is to have a taste adventure. Don't forget the Cheese and Crackers.
Some really Good wine or Champagne to go with it.
I would put a large blanket and some cushions on the floor and do a spread out of everything.
It's not always the food that makes a meal romantic....it's about the ambiance. Even the smallest vase with one real flower can start to set a mood. A cloth tablecloth and napkins either rolled to hold the utensils or folded in a different way>>http://bumblebeelinens.com/napkinFolding…
A basket with a napkin liner hanging out to hold a beverage to share and whatever food items, an easy dessert, nice music if you're into that or whatever appeals to you, some candles and a comfy seating arrangement--no matter where it is. It's a feeling of being at ease and being "in the moment" to enjoy it.
So serve whatever you and he both like to eat. If he loves you, it won't matter ;).
steamed mediterranean chicken wraps:
Cut small slits on top of boneless chicken breasts (like a latter) and stuff with mozzerela cheese. Take a piece of tin foil and pour a little bit of oil. Place 3 pieces ea of zucchini and tomatoe slices on top and put chicken piece on top of that. close tin foil so it is like a TP. Roast in oven @ 375 for 30 min. Make tri colored pasta on side that is tossed in a little bit of melted butter.....Yum! (And healthy, so you are taken care of him....and no stinky breathe for later! lol)
Spaghetti with garlic bread and wine.
i think the picnic in bed theme is a great idea!!!!
