Graduation party idea's?!

Question: Graduation party idea's?
My sister and I are about to graduate and my mom wants to have a party, we need ideas, what kind of food and drink do you serve, do you have a theme, and where should we have it, we have a big patio but my mom wants to do it somewhere else.
Thanks for all the help.

There's a book titled "Going Places"-

It's about getting started down the road in life. Why not make it your theme? Maybe hang up travel posters and set out suitcases and get the book to display and have all the guests autograph it (or 2 of them since you and your sister are graduating).

Have things symbolic to your chosen paths. Serve an international kind of cuisine...a little of this and that from different countries or from parts of your own country.

Have invitations made to look like passports or tickets...and have things around the party area like "planes, trains and automobiles" (reminds me of another movie ;).

There's a site where they sell "Sister Rings"....another nice thought for the two of you. Just google where to buy sister rings.

Set the food table up nice and have a runner on it....set up beverages in its own area. Having a chocolate fountain (check party places and craft stores like ACMoore and coupon specials on their websites for savings to buy one)....serve fruits in sectioned servers, have marshmallows and pretzel rods, too. Put skewers into a tall glass, have small plates and napkins and a small basket for disposal of picks, etc. nearby.

Food items can be all finger foods or depending on how many are coming, can order platters or make hot foods or have it catered.

Add some music, streamers and even door prizes of tote bags or travel gift sets for people. Call out "lucky passport numbers" from their invites..or hand tickets out as they arrive.
