Another question about the sprial cut ham I'm serving at my dinner party....?!

Question: Another question about the sprial cut ham I'm serving at my dinner party....?
I'm not a 'ham' person and have never served it before.... (Thanks to everyone who answered my last question about portion size.)

To make things easy for myself, I plan to serve the honey-baked ham cold.
a) will that taste ok?
b) since it's pre-cooked should I just let it thaw, or do I need to cook it -- I guess for the glaze?
c) Can I cook it the day before and just keep it in the fridge - or would it be better if I make it early on the day of the party?
d) any other suggestions? (I'm also having a turkey with the ham.)

Answers:

What I usually do with cooked ham is make a glaze of brown sugar (you can also use golden sugar) and jarred or dry mustard and a little water to taste. I also put pineapple slices on the ham (using toothpicks) and add some of the juice to the glaze. I pour it over the ham then heat until the glaze thickens and serve,. I baste every 10 minutes and heat for about 30 minutes.
You can probably do that on the morning of your party, let it cool then refrigerate it, since you are serving it cold. I have never served it cold myself, but I don't see why not.
I usually make mashed potatoes or baked sweet potatoes, and cream corn with this and usually some biscuits.
Sounds delicious!.

I would cook it with the glaze the day before and store in the fridge till serving time and then serve it cold

The second answer is the best one. But, with ham, make sure you have several different types of mustard on hand...the honey mustard is a must.
