Question: Party tips please 4 yr olds bday part diy icecream sundaes?
I am thining of having a do it yourself ice cream sundae bar station for my daugthers bday party, I probably wont' do a meal beforehand cause the party will center around this, but when should I serve cake, I I am thinking the kids will be too full for cake but maybe not, any ideas ..or I was thinking of having cake with the ice cream sundaes but would it seem werid to have cake as soon as they arrive ..?

Instead of cake...why not make cupcakes...put them on a tier..or just spread them out. Then the kids can either have one or take one home.

I would play a couple games first to work up their appetite.

Another idea is to make "ice cream cone cakes" to go with your theme:

Ingredients.

any 2 layer cake mix of your choice.
About 24 ice cream cake cones (the ones with the flat bottoms).
Frosting and decorations of your choice.

Mix cake mix as directed.

Fill cones with amount of batter that you would use to make cupcakes. Place inside a 9x13 inch baking pan to keep them upright.

Bake according to package directions for cupcakes.

Cake cones come out looking like they have a scoop of ice cream in them. Cool. When completely cooled frost and decorate as desired. (add a maraschino cherry or a gummi decoration)

I would do the sundae bar and the cake a little later... Or put some cake on the sundae bar so the can mix.

How about a cupcake decorating bar to go with it?

firstly just want to say good luck! and how bout an ice-cream cake. my girls still love them :)
