Where does the products go when the manufacturer's/seller's item and goods expire?!

Question: Where does the products go when the manufacturer's/seller's item and goods expire?
I'm just anxious to know what happens when the products their selling got past their EXPIRY DATE? I'm talking to the MAIN dealers (like factory, grocery stores)

Thanks! =]

Answers:

depends on the product

bread, veggies, meat, generally is tossed out

canned, frozen and prepackaged foods... those aren't expiriation dates, they are "freshness" dates used by companies to move old products off their shelves. usually these are either sold to discount companies (big lots, dollar stores) or are donated when they are close to the date, or past the date.

The trash.

I was helping a buddy clean out a storage locker and we saw a dumpster filled with Brownberry Bread that had the day-before's date on it. We filled his carry with the dumped bread and gave it to our friends!

The dumpster thats why so many people go dumpster diving at grocery stores because the food is usually only a day or two over the limit. but stores cannot legally sell anything over the date so they throw it out. Hope this helps!!

Sometimes depending on the product they just slap a new date on it. I once worked at a grocery store and this was a regular practice there.

I saw it happen

i think when the products items are expired they gone to the factory again and disposed that expired items. or it will be sent in the rubbish dam.
