What to do if i don't drink at a party?!

Question: What to do if i don't drink at a party?
I don't drink alcohol + i'm going to an 18th Birthday Party soon... everyone drinks and there will probably be a few drunk people.

I'm really nervous about looking like a fool but i'm not going to drink to change that... should i be worried? or just keep it cool.

Sensible answers please, thanks :)

You don't have to drink to have fun. Just do everything you would have done if you HAD had a drink.

Dance, sing, snog, chat, joke, make new friends, eat, smoke, (did I say snog) ??

If you are concerned that people will think you "weird" for not drinking, then have a glass of tonic water, with a slice of lemon in it. Nobody will know it isn't Gin & Tonic.

Just chill out and enjoy the party, and just think your head won't hurt like everybody Else's the next day.

Like the others have said, if you don't want to drink, don't. I rarely drink alcohol simply because there's very little I actually like, but every now and then I still get hassled by someone who thinks the point of drinking is getting drunk. Just say no thanks and keep an eye on your glass, or better still drink from a bottle/can just in case some joker tries to show you what you're not missing out on.

Also, keep a camera handy - that way you look like the best mate in the whole world when your pal is piecing together the evening's events later on, and you may just get some useful pics for when other people are rich/famous enough to need to buy them from you!

You don't have to worry about looking like a fool. You can do the coy "I'm the DD for the night" or "I have to wake up super early tomorrow" if you want to play it off. Just have a drink in hand if you feel uncomfortable. I rarely drink so I will usually just buy a red bull and pour it into a glass, it will give you energy also because I know if you're not drinking it can normally get boring. Or you can take a couple of bottles of margarita mix and just drink that plain with ice. If people try and get a sip you can say "I know I can barely taste the alcohol also."

Those of course are tips if you don't want to bring attention to the fact that you're not drinking and have a bunch of people asking questions.

Hope this helps!

Dont worry about not drinking at a party. Im 20 and have never drank. In college all my friends respect the fact that i have made a decision not to drink and never try to get me to drink...dont be ashamed of not drinking and dont make excuses....just say it straight out "i dont drink" be firm about it and no one will question you. like it has already been said you can still have all the fun of a drunk person being sober...iv even convert one of my housemates to sober nights...they still have as much fun without the headaches or the memory loss of drinking...have fun at the party and dont worry...be yourself, not who people think they want you to be :)

You may actually quite enjoy watching other people lose their inhibitions as they get a bit/lot drunk while you stay sober. I used to drink about as much as my friends but stopped about six months ago. It doesn't seem to bother any of them that I've stopped drinking, and it doesn't bother me. When we organise a kitty those few of us who don't drink just put half the normal amount in, so it's cheaper and we can drive home afterwards.
Stay cool. Most people probably won't get very drunk, and those that do almost certainly won't notice that you're not.

No, don't be worried or nervous, it really is no big deal whether you drink or not, the main thing is being there, so enjoy!!!! And just think about all those waking up with the hangover from hell, when you'll be a fresh as a daisy.

Don't drink just to be 'cool' ... just have a non-alcoholic drink. Nobody is going to know the difference - unless its in a pub and they go to the bar with you, so if your insecure- go alone

Have fun Dance Dance Dance :) x

Don't worry bout the others just enjoy yourself. If someone says something just ask them what they DON'T like to do & tell them to go do it.

:) :)

Its the drunks who will look foolish, not you

take drugs..... jk just be yourself
