ask the 10-year-old what they want...

if it's in the dark will they even be able to play games? I'd suggest a scavenger hunt. Of course darkness lends itself to pin the tail on the donkey.

What if their scared of the dark + I think you should ask them.

put glow sticks in balloons before blowing them up and hang them up

Have guests wear white t shirts and tell them each to bring a highlighter and that you'll all be writing on each other's shirts...it'll be a souvenir for them....they can write down sayings, their name, drawings, collect phone numbers.

Balloon game: use white balloons so you can see them..or neon green...and insert a paper with an instruction written on it for guest to do>>then have 2 teams. First person on"go" grabs a balloon and puts it between their knees to run across room (make sure pathway is clear and have 2 chairs on other side that are "highlighted" so you can see) and sits on a chair to break the balloon. Then they yell out what the paper says and has to do it....have things like "hop back on 1 foot to team", jump rope back to team, spin 3 times back to team, crawl back to team, walk backwards to team, recite a nursery rhyme, say the alphabet as fast as you can, etc....then they run back to tag next person. First team completing tasks wins.

Twister is a black light classic. Have all players take off their shoes and uncover their hands. Paint their hands and feet with neon body paint. Have two to four people play at a time with one person spinning the spinner and refereeing the game. Alternately, paint rows of red, blue, yellow and green squares on a large exercise mat for a giant twister board large enough for your whole party

Get a pinata...fill it with neon items...also candies, trinkets, key chains, lip balm, lollipops, funky pens that glow....put enough in there and that can be their treats to take home (you can supply the bags).

Freeze dance: play music and at 30 second intervals or so, stop the music>>whoever is still moving is out of the game. Keep going til 1 person left.
