Question:

How to get free entertainment to come to my bar?

we are trying to get people to come to our bar i am the waitress and the owner wont spend any money so im looking for free entertainment . to bring in more customers.

Answers:
Pay them in free drinks, maybe the owner will go for that

Start dancing on the table tops.

Free Drinks...........................

Why don't you do a table dance since you are already getting paid to be there.

the owner wont spend any money?

i used to go to local shops, talk them into giving up prizes. little things, hats, tshirts, sunglasses, pizza, movie tickets.
then create funny games for patrons of the bar. the winners got the stuff donated by the local shops...

Advertise for people for an "Open Mic" night!

Local talents to show off for free!

hold a community talent show.
audition people for it, that will bring them in

have an open mike night - come in and jam with others or play solo - have a comedian contest, amateurs only

make up some fliers and post them and hand them out HOST A BATTLE OF THE BANDS its a chance for local bands to let the community know who they are !

Advertise in the small local newspapers, music stores etc. that you are willing to allow new talent to perform. Let them know that you cannot pay but are giving them an opportunity to be seen and heard. I would try to hold auditions, that way you know what your getting.

Have an "Open Mike Night". You would have to provide the PA system and microphone. If you make it easy, so that all a person has to do is bring a guitar and plug it in and start entertaining, it will attract quite a lot of local talent. I play and sing and I look for places I can play for free. You could also advertise for people to play for tips only. I have made as much as $350 in one night, but as little as 6 bucks.

Sweetie, you seem like a very good waitress. Point is just, if the owner won't SPEND money, he won't MAKE money. That's just how business works. Chances are that he's not a very good business man. Getting the bar going is not your responsibility, you should just keep the clients happy by being a friendly and devoted waitress. If all else fails and the bar closes, you would have built yourself a good reference to start another job with. Good luck!!

If you know people who know people who know people..... let them know, you can get them exposure, however because your boss is a cheap skate, you can only afford the exposure. In the mean time, talk to the boss and let him know you may have someone to do entertainment in the bar... what is his view of this? Also, to the boss... let him know if he wants patrons coming to the bar... this is exposure for him as well... scratch my back, I will scratch yours... in the future, maybe the entertainer and boss can contract if the entertainer is exceptional, do a cover charge... in the end it all works out.

that's not easy to do. as a musician, i know that people who provide entertainment will almost never do it for free. Not even free drinks (unless they are broke drunks which only solves their problem temporarily). If you want people to show up offer drink specials. If you really want good entertainment, you have to offer them some kind of payment. charge a fee at the door if you have to and give them all of the money you take from that. if they want more money, they will tell more people to come see them which means more money for both you and them.

go to

www.craigslist.org

navigate thru that site.

Sweet for everything

What kind of bar is it? Is it a dance club or just a chill bar???

Have an open mike night. People are always willing to come to things like that. Also you could have a karaoke night which would be fun. Or have a comic stand up night for armatures. They won't expect to be paid and you will have your free entertainment.

Convince the owner to offer them free drinks and food on the house. After all, people love to come out to hear a band especially if they are good and this will help them get noticed and will draw more customer to the place especially if the owner does a little advertising to boot. Also consider charging a cover charge and the cover charges collected goes to the band.Give it a shot! Good luck!
