Two side dishes with crab cakes?!

Question:

Two side dishes with crab cakes?

Plates are black.

Answers:
I would suggest a nice wild rice combination. With the multple colors, blacks, browns and whites will be a nice bold statement. And also a nice side of fresh steamed asparagus, as the vibrant green will "pop" of the plate. Yummy!

Sugar snap peas and yellow rice. Enjoy!

rice pilaf and grilled asparagus

assorted steamed veggies and rice pilaf.

The bright colored veggies not only taste great, but will look gorgeous against the black plates.

Steam the veggies then add a little butter , and salt/pepper to taste.

roasted red peppers and a pineapple salsa

stuffed baby artichokes and herbed rice

steamed asparagus with hollandaise sauce
corn casserole

vegetables jullienne, apple sauce and mango salsa

GARLIC SMASHED POTATOES, MAC & CHEESE, WHOLE KERNAL CORN, VEG. MEDLEY,FRIED POTATOES.

Crab cakes are sometimes on the rich and heavy side. To lighten things up I would saute fresh asparagus or sugar snap peas with cherry tomatoes and serve with a salad of mixed greens with a light vingarette (raspberry, basil, or citrus).

Corn on the Cob
Mac & Cheese

Cole slaw///corn pudding
