Seventeenth birthday party... ideas that have to do with candies/sweets?!

Question: Seventeenth birthday party... ideas that have to do with candies/sweets?
I'm having a seventeenth birthday in a few weeks and I want the theme to have something to do with sweets, candies, and/or cakes. I have no clue what the decorations should look like or what exact theme is should have.
Help please! Any suggestions would help!

CUPCAKES. That's really all that needs to be said. The versatility is indescribable. Also they are quite fashionable and chic. Have you ever seen a picture of a cupcake. I mean a REAL picture? Tumblr, my friend. Tumblr. The most beautiful place I have ever been. On second thought...have a tumblr birthday party.

You could include in the invite to bring a favorite candy. Decorations could be simple wrapped candies, take tissue paper and wrap a ball tying both ends with ribbon, or even use foam shapes to create your own designed candies, candy canes leading to your house or party venue, gumball machine. I would say cupcakes to decorate may be a fun activities for guests. A fondue fountain may be fun with a variety of items to dip.

Themes??
Willy Wonka
Sweet Sixteen
Candy Bar
Candyland

games??
guess the candy/bar
Guess how many ??? (skittles, M&M's, Candy bars, gumballs...)

have a party where you make candies and decorate them, such as toffee, chocolate truffles, fondant, and stuff like that.
Make giant polka dot colored stuff like for the sprinkle candy that you put on cupcakes, like confetti sprinkles, and together with helium balloons.
Build a cupcake tower
Make spun sugar
I like making candy, it is a little tricky, you definitely need a candy thermometer!
consider renting a cotton candy making machine at the party rental place.
Have your friends make cute little boxes to take home their hand made candies
Play the song, "I want candy" and have some good music in the background.

Well, I'm not sure but you could have like a bright/colorful party?
Like make pink, red, yellow, and orange your main theme colors.
You could eat Starburst for candy or make yellow cake for your birthday cake?
I'm not sure, but I hope this is somewhat inspiring? [:

You can do a Candyland theme, like the board game. Maybe a tea party, that involves sweets. David Tutera did a candy themed wedding, using things that were candy shaped and colored. Or decorate like a candy shop! Good luck!

hersheys hugs are soooo yummmy, you should totes give those away
