Throwing a hotel room party?!

Question: Throwing a hotel room party?
So next weekend a couple of my friends and I want to rent out a hotel room and have a party..I need tips on making this party work. Everyone keeps telling me it's a bad idea but I don't see the harm in it. We plan on swimming in the pool and playing a few party games. ALL of the people attending the party and I understand that we can't be loud and we can't make a mess. If we respect the rules of the hotel and we are quiet then what would be the problem?

I dont see a problem so far, as long as like you said, can't be loud & be respectful. You should definitely have this Chili Cheese Bean Nachos & Dip for snacks & appetizers. It is awesome & simple. I'm gonna make it for the Super Bowl & future parties. hope this helps.

Most hotels don't appreciate there being more people in a room than you're paying for double for 2 people, etc. I can't imagine them letting a lot of people in so your friends would have to pretend that they're staying at the hotel to get in, and if you're planning on swimming at night, most hotels won't let you for health and safety, not to mention that's when they clean the pool.

No problem... BUT they wont let you have more people in the room than you paied for...

awesome

From someone that works in hotels: As long as you are respectful of other guests and don't leave a huge mess for the housekeepers, it should be fine depending on how many friends are going to be in the room. I see your question is from the UK so I'm not sure on the occupancy laws, but in the US you can't have more than 5 people in a room by law. if it is going to be more than that the best thing to do is rent 2 rooms that are adjoining.

Please do not lie about the number of guests. this is liable to get you ejected without reimbursement. Hotels need to keep an accurate guest count in case anything were to ever happen, say a fire at the hotel, or one of your friends slips in the pool and isn't registered. there are hundreds of scenarios. Its just best for everyone to let them know.

Second thing, please let the hotel know what you are doing. Most of them don't mind as long as you are following the rules of the establishment. Plus people don't like to find out after the fact, or during that you are using their hotel as part central. Mainly because it's not that type of establishment.

Ask them if there is anything they would appreciate that you do.

Ask ahead of time for larger trash bags (the ones in the room are usually those flimsy cheap little things that don't hold much at all)

You may want to get two adjoining rooms even if you aren't having more than 5 guests. One room can be for your things and sleeping and one you can have the hotel set up tables and chairs for food (yes, they will do this if you ask. they may charge a fee, but most won't mind acomodating you) People use hotel rooms for meetings all the time. I've seen depositions and wills be done in hotel rooms because they need a neutral ground.

Hope that helps :)
