Ideas for what to serve for dinner for a group?!

Question: Ideas for what to serve for dinner for a group?
My parent's are hosting the next get-together to plan their high school reunion, so that is the main focus for the meeting. It's not technically a "dinner party" but my mom wants to serve dinner to everyone while working on the event. Its a pretty casual thing, but not exactly a barbecue or potluck kind of thing. Any ideas are appreciated!

You should stick to finger foods if its not a dinner party but you still want to serve food. Some examples are:

Sandwiches
Fruit/Vegi/Cheese Trays
Hot wings
Cheeseburger sliders
Chips and dip
Pastries with fillings
Quesadillas
Cookie trays
Mini hot dogs
Pizza

I find a big slow cooker of sloppy joes makes a great casual dinner for a group. Toast some really nice rolls to take it up a notch, and serve with side dishes like pickles, cole slaw, various chips and maybe brownies for dessert. Easy to make ahead, and guests can easily serve themselves.

This would be a good idea for an appetizer. The video shows how to make a fast and easy Chili cheese bean nachos & dip. I am making this dinner this weekend and i will use the recipe for the appetizer. hope this helps.

Pasta... or sandwiches.

A big pot of soup or stew.
