For the meats:
shredded chicken, BBQ shredded beef, cold cuts.

For the salads:
fresh salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, coleslaw, sliced tomatoes/sliced cucumber marinated in Italian dressing ( not the creamy Italian, but the other )

Don't forget the cheese trays, relish trays, the condiments or the Miracle Whip.

chicken, pasta, salad, and of course cake!

Chicken, mostacolli, beef for the main dishes.

One food that I remember at my brother's wedding was Chocolate covered strawberries. Their was a chocolate fountain to dip the chilled strawberries.

Depends on how fancy wedding is.
Shrimp Pasta, stuffed bell peppers, jambalaya, chicken drummettes, gumbo, steamed rice, potato salad ,macaroni and shrimp salad, shrimp mousse, cocktail meatballs w/ crackers, cheese and crackers, cocktail weiners in sweet barbque sauce, baked ham, roasted turkey, roast beef slices, deviled eggs, armadillo eggs(spicy), finger sandwiches, 3 color pasta w/ italian dressing and parmesean cheese.
just a few off the top of my head.Hope that helps.

usually there's a buffet, with some of the bride and groom's favorite selections. you can also choose to include some foods from your heritage, example if you're italian do chicken parm and spaghetti. in most wedding's i've been to there's always a cocktail hour- ranging from cheese cubes and crackers, shrimp, raw vegetables, sweet and sour beef, and cocktail franks. then they start with a salad such as caesar, and a choice of soup (only in winter time), then there's a pasta such as penne ala vodka or rigatoni with broccoli florets in an oil and garlic sauce. There's a choice of meat- one is always prime rib or steak, one is chicken (again parmesan, franchese, or cordon bleu), and one fish such as salmon or filet. The main course is served with a vegetable medley. Then there's usually fresh fruit and on to dessert. Don't forget the cake! Good luck!

In the sw Pennsylvania area, fried or baked chicken, rigatoni, and definitely a cookie table.

It really depends on what kind of food you like. You want things that will be liked by all, but especially by you and your soon to be other half. If you want something Cheaper. Go with Chicken, made different ways, throw in some salads and fruits and some fresh veggies. Add some cookies or other sweets for those who don't like cake. and you are covered. If they don't like chicken they will still have plenty to choose from. Good Luck! :)

I was just at a wedding reception with a buffet last night so I'll tell ya what they had. Roast beef and ham and chicken. Rice, roast potatoes, vegetable medley, pasta salad, ceasar salad, greek salad, coleslaw. Buns n butter, cheese platter with crackers, a platter of pickles, olives, hot peppers, pickled onions that type of thing. And a dessert table as well with fruit, fruit cobbler, bars, chocolate mousse cake, cheese cake. There was also 2 free drink tickets and free wine for toasting and cheers.

my daughter married recently and had a hog roast, it went down really well and for those that didn't eat meat we had salmon, real vegans we had lots of salads and pulses. if you don't want to go to those extremes try good old fashioned quiches and cold chicken cooked as coronation or tikka, people like food that is easy to eat yet tasty!

just remember that people are in their dress clothes, so stay away from sauced items, things that drip, that are hard to eat, or need a lot of work to get a bite. My family is from Indiana and in that area there is only one kind of buffet, polish. fried chicken, sausage, green beans, sweet and sour cabbage, mashed spuds, and noodles.

oh man i hope someone gets married soon.

butter chicken

yes, mostly buffet style food. chicken, shrimp, salad, veggies and dip, rice, smashed taters, lots of finger foods and the more bread and drinks the faster everyone gets full. get my drift???? cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If vegetarian you could opt for the South Indian foods which are known for it's spicy taste.
If non-veg then go for chicken gravey, turkey, with slices of meat.
