Does anyone have a family recipe for the Christmas drink "Tom & Jerry?"?

It is a batter in which you add whiskey and nutmeg to taste. I need an original recipe. Thanks.

Scale ingredients to servings
24 eggs
1/2 jigger rum
2 lb powdered sugar
1/2 jigger brandy
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 oz vanilla






To make the batter: beat egg whites stiff with electric beator. Add sugar gradually. Add cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Add in half of the eggs yolks, and blend until smooth.

In a large mug fill with 1/2 batter, 2 shots of [60% rum and 40% brandy]. Balance with boiling hot water. Stir well and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Tom and Jerry

Ingredients:
1 3/4 ounce Rum (Preferably Old Mr. Boston Imported Rum)
1/2 ounce Brandy
1 Egg
Baking Soda
Milk (Hot)
Superfine Sugar
Nutmeg


Directions:

First prepare the batter. Using a mixing bowl, separate the yolks and whites of 1 egg, beating each separately and thoroughly. Then combine both, adding enough superfine powdered sugar to stiffen. Add to this 1 pinch of baking soda and 1/4 oz. Old Mr. Boston Imported Rum to preserve the batter. Then add a little more sugar to stiffen.

To Serve: Use hot Tom and Jerry mug. Using 1 tablespoon of above batter, dissolve in 3 tablespoons hot milk. Add 1 1/2 oz. rum. Then fill the mug with hot milk within 1/4 inch of top of mug and stir gently. Then top with 1/2 oz. brandy nd grate a little nutmeg on top.

The Secret of a Tom and Jerry is to have a stiff batter and a warm mug.
