Will the hotel industry ever see a recession period?!

Question:

Will the hotel industry ever see a recession period?

Answers:
"Ever" is a hypothetical term. Did you mean in Indian context or in global scenario? In both context presently its having an upswing Nationally & globally. But as per conventional economic syndrome of every industry there always shall be a boom & dip alternately even in hotel industry. As far as Indian hotel industry is concerned, we never had it so good and in all probablity shall sustain this boom for another decade or so unless force majure clauses enforced on us.

If people are too scared to leave their homes it could happen.

They did right after 9/11. But overall, the hotel industry is still in an upward trend cause travelling is getting more common and accessible to everyone.

Yes if transportation ever takes a big hit. If there was a very large scale disaster or epidemic, obviously people would not travel and would thus stay at home. This, obviously, leaves very little business for hotels. Or if someday we can teleport from place to place, hotels will become obsolete. You could spend the day in Tahiti and be back home to sleep in your own bed in the wink of an eye.

If you start seeing great deals on hotel rooms and vacation packages, they are probably experiencing a recession.

no i dont think so

Every industry eventually goes through a recession, so the answer is yes.

Yes.
The tourism industry as we all know is one of the chief feeders to the hotel indutry in every pasrt of the globe. Any recession in the tourism industry due to Terrorism, Natural Disasters, Improper management by local government, Lack of promotional Activities, Lack of personal safety for tourists, all this will have a direct and powerful impact on the hotel industry. And we have seen this happening in the past with events like the 9/11, the tsunami and the eternal conflicts in one of the most beautiful countries in the World like Srilanka.

Your question seems irrelevant in the today's scenario where our economy is on a boom and every activity is progressing with leaps and bounds. Higher the Agri./Ind. activity, higher the chances of investment, higher the chances of tourism in a state. Enjoy, man.

Try booking in in Beirut.

Sure. In a tough economy, travel and eating out aresome of the first luxuries to go. If travel is a neciessity in hard time, you can expect fewer bookings for luxuries like afternoon tea, spa treatments, upgrade room rentals, and shop sales.

Hotel industries all have a recession period. depends on the place, and the time.

Whether there's a special event going on, or something to attract visitors.

During the "dry" times is when the hotels offer great deals to keep customers coming.

some day it might happen

There's more travel in the USA,cause people are afraid to fly abroad so not for awhile!
